Hey Big Question (/m4): That's too vague for me to figure out
what you mean. There is also the Generic BoingBoing Discussion
(http://www.quicktopic.com/23/H/8GYXFWRuKDf) and discussion at
the Boingboing tribe (http://boingboing.tribe.net/).

Actually, the most boring documentary on Earth (that I personally saw, anyway) was the behind-the-scenes overview of "The Shining" (contained on the current issues of "Shining" on DVD). It had bad sound, didn't ask any piercing or informative questions (because it was obvious Kubrick wasn't the least bit interested in discussing his film with the hack with a camera), and was generally a misuse of the talent. Obviously it was an honest attempt, and someone wisely decided to not release it publically, but the DVD needed extra footage and there you go.

I also should say that I was amiss in discussing Atari and documentaries without mentioning the current work by Howard Scott Warshaw, and his documentary series "Once Upon Atari". He just finished the third episode and has released it, so now's the time to buy it.

Curt's AtariMuseum reminded me of when I finally convinced my parents to buy me an Atari 5200 so I could play a decent game of Pac-Man at home. Within an hour of getting the system home, I was traumatized by the joystick's inability to self-center. I hacked a solution with a dozen or so rubberbands that pulled the stick back to center when released (kinda). I remember my parents seeing the weird contraption and insisting that "if the game is broke, we really should just return it to the store." I refused and, ultimately, my Texas Instruments 99/4 proved far more entertaining anyway. --pesco (p.s. Jason, your posts are phenomenal!)
