^*^*^ RE:/1694 Interesting article--but as you know they will not regulate the sizes, they will only charge people more for sizes (but not the mailers-they let them mail anything they wish, anysize for a huge discount) and still put them in the mail stream to be automated--we see this everyday-spend tons of operational time on culling stuff out. Sure they want to automate all the mail to eliminate 030 manual, but we all know that run these machines that there is much mail that just can't be run on a machine--the thin church fliers, etc. and let's not forget Netflix.

R RE:/1695 Thanks for the info--will pass it on. The problem is unless we see the Apps in person all we have to go by is their diagrams of the machines and their video's. The diagram shows induction stations, which by the sounds of it is where each article goes in to be scanned. Who sorts the broken bundles when doing flats and rebands them? Who determines each class of mail? These are things I think clerks should be doing--IE: when many a bundle breaks open from the dumpers and the magazines and catalogs are all over the belts--someone must have to rebundle them which entails reading the zipcodes, etc. Or is it just flug in trays and the clerks have to go through it all?? Who seperates the 3 digit bundles from the 5 digit?
