yeah i think i'm finally starting to understand all this dating stuff.
most importantly, I'm finally being myself again...
it's all trial and error.
by the time i'm 80, I should be ready for marriage. heh. ;-)

Boody oath, Bonnie, did you actually read those rules? You should worry constantly about losing your attractiveness, don't ever "nag" him (that is, express opinions or needs), and if he acts like a total jerk, give him "space" and complete forgiveness? Were they written by a 1950's housewife? A masochist with no self-esteem? The ladies who wrote The Rules?
If you have to work that hard, it wasn't meant to be, and the boy is probably not worth it. btw, I was a late bloomer but have enjoyed 8 wonderful unmarried years with my guy. Be yourself, and love, if it is love, is easy.

I think you are entirely too hard on yourself. Do you feel that you need a relationship to make you happy? Is it the marriage of your other friends that makes you feel as if there's something wrong with you? Well... that would just make you a part of the herd, wouldn't it. There is nothing written in stone that says you must meet and marry. Consider yourself a free-thinker who does what she wants when she wants. Don't worry Bonnie. Once you find the right person you won't have to worry about this list of advice. You just have to relax and enjoy being by yourself and good things will come to you. Just live your life on your terms. I know you have probably heard this all before but it happened for me ... and you may remember my guy, my husband, my best friend ... Matt Sebastian from the Campus Press at CU-Boulder. Go Buffs.
