My struggling steps on Aug 17,2003:
( Trouble often occurs because tripod doesn't emphasize enough to always where required, one must not miss any steps to click Register, Save or Publish.)

"My Account", then next -
"Online Tools", or I might have skipped Online Tools, instead jumping to -
"WebFTP" where I can click "Edit" and "Publish".
I could not edit, only getting blank window with several attempts.
I clicked published, but still I could not edit, only getting blank a window, & after a very long time maybe over an hour, a prompt in Lycos WebBuilder said:
"Your website is being created... - Lycos Meditation - Can't regenerate id in xml model file - Create index model."

But when I attempted to access it (clicked Edit icon) a prompt said "This file cannot be edited! You must select a TXT, HTML, PHP, WML, or JS file." However their was no TXT conversion option to click on. I pasted my Word 6 doc's contents into a new notepad TXT doc, and then repeated this time with the TXT upload: "Upload file(s) from your PC:" but, there was no file folder icon did not automatically display, so I have to figure out how to create this required folder.
I re-registered the site and clicked "Open WebFTP" and, there was the file folder icon displayed as "index.html". (maybe I had forgotten to register)
I uploaded the TXT doc via the upload frame available on the right side of the WebFTP interface, after FIRST creating Notepad's text document because WebFTP cannot use a Word 6 doc.

... The basic function of FTP software is sending files from your computer to your online account. Lycos WebFTP of course allows to do so:
If you're using Internet Explorer 5 and above on a Windows platform, you can upload files to your account simply using drag and drop functionnality. On your computer, open the folder containing the files you want to upload. Select these files and drag them to the upload frame available on the right side of the WebFTP interface. Once you've dragged all the files, just click on the Upload button present on the bottom. Your files are then uploaded.
