here is what i got:

We are continuing to experience a large network problem, similar to
what
occurred last Wednesday (p066.ezboard.com/ffotolog...90.topic). We are
cooperating with our hosting company and carriers to resolve the
situation
as soon as possible.

In the meantime, people in different parts of the world may
intermittently
be unable to access the Fotolog site.

We know that this really sucks - and please understand that we are
doing
everything in our power to resolve this situation that is largely out
of
our hands.

We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration.

We hope to have it resolved once and for all this week and will give
Gold
Camera members with additional days of credit to make up for this
frustrating partial outage.

I have had no access since last Friday. If someone has access, please contact the administration. Since this is a problem for more than just one of us, they need to be made aware that they made a commitment to goldcard members about access long ago.

==========================================$$MAKE LOTS OF QUICK CASH THE EASY WAY$$==========================================Dear Internet User,Good day, This article I've written is all about the fact where I earned an ASTOUNDING amount of money in less than a month and I've decided to share or reveal the secrets behind making big bucks in the Mail Order Business. So all money seekers, read this carefully.=========================================**READING THIS COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE!** I found this on a bulletin board like this one and decided to try it. A little while back, I was browsing through several newsgroups, just like you are now, and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought, "Yeah right, this must be a scam", but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you need to send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. You then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. I figured: "what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00, right?" Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!!... within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works.... Also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something so easy! SUGGESTION: Read this entire message carefully! (print it out or download it.) Follow the simple directions and watch the money come in! It's easy. It's legal. And, your investment is only $6.00 (Plus postage).IMPORTANT: This is not a rip-off; it is not indecent; it is not illegal; and it is virtually no risk - it really works!!!! If all of the following instructions are adhered to, you will receive extraordinary dividends. PLEASE NOTE: Please follow these directions EXACTLY, and $50,000 or more can be yours in 20 to 60 days. This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. Please continue it’s success by carefully adhering to the instructions. You will now become part of the Mail Order business. In this business your product is not solid and tangible, it's a service. You are in the business of developing Mailing Lists. Many large corporations are happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. However, the money made from the mailing lists is secondary to the income which is made from people like you and me asking to be included in that list.==========================================-->HERE ARE 4 EASY STEPS TO GET STARTED<--STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Now get 6 US $1.00 bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope ( Please make sure that the bill wouldn't be noticed in the envelope to prevent thievery). Send out US $ DOLLAR, so it would be more acceptable.STEP 2: Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them properly. You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper stating the phrase, "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST.", your name and address, and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing is creating a service. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! You are requesting for a legitimate service and you are paying for it! Like most of us, I was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it is indeed legal!Mail the US$6.00 to the following addresses1) Aaron harris. 329 sanderson hallwest chester universitywest chester.. pa USA 19383..2) Rosmarie autum tao.2734 summitview dr..Lakeland.. florida 33813 USA3) rostum Hernandez 2 jericho st.victoriaville subd..antipolo cityphillipines..1870..4) samridha adhikari34a -arabinda sarani. Calcutta -5 INDIA5) Ms. Phiffany L.S.,25 martine ave apt 816 white plains, ny 106066)K. HEIDEL 39 GROTTO WAYCANMORE, AB. CANADAT1W 1J8 STEP 3: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move the other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc...) and add YOUR Name as number 6 on the list.STEP 4: Copy this article. Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups. (I think there are close to 2.4million groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you make! This is perfectly legal! If you have any doubts, refer to Title 18, Section 1302 and 1341, US Postal and Lottery Laws or Title 18, Section 3005 in the US code, also in the code of Federal regulations, Volume 16, Sections 255 and 436, which states; "a product or service must be exchanged for money received." The simple note in the letter, "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST", makes it legal because you are paying for exchange of a service, (adding the purchasers name to his mailing list) for a $1.00 fee.IMPORTANT: Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and, whenever you need money, you can use it again, and again. PLEASE REMEMBER that this program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants and by their carefully adhering to the directions. Look at it this way. If you are of integrity, the program will continue and the money that so many others have received will come your way.NOTE: You may want to retain every name and address sent to you, either on a computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send you. This VERIFIES that you are truly providing a service. (Also, it might be a good idea to wrap the $1 bill in dark paper to reduce the risk of mail theft.) So, as each post is downloaded and the directions carefully followed, six members will be reimbursed for their participation as a List Developer with one dollar each. Your name will move up the list geometrically so that when your name reaches the #1 position you will be receiving thousands of dollars in CASH!!! What an opportunity for only $6.00 ($1.00 for each of the first six people listed above) Send it now, add your own name to the list and you're in business! ===============================================-->DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS<--( open a search engine. Type post message in wwwboard bulletin board) then click search..Step 1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your mouse cursor at the beginning of this letter, click and drag your cursor to the bottom of this document, right click and select 'copy' from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computer's memory. Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your mouse cursor at the top of the blank page. Right click and from the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your name and postal address to the list.Step 3) Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different settings, you'll always have this file to go back to. Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.)Step 5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the "post" message button. You're done with your first one!Congratulations...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take about a minute for each newsgroup! **REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200** That's it! You will begin receiving money from around the world within days! You may eventually want to rent a P.O.Box due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT.**=======================================*Now the WHY part; Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low example). So then I made $5.00 with my name at #6 on the letter. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original 5, that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $626.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still ONLY 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is: do you realize that thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles everyday?, JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So, can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual internet!!! REMEMBER, PLAY FAIRLY AND HONESTLY AND THIS WILL WORK FOR YOU!!!GOOD LUCK to all and please play fairly and reap the huge rewards from this, which is tons of extra CASH. By the way, please DON'T try to deceive people by posting the messages with your name in the list and not sending the CASH to the rest of the people already on the list, you will NOT get any. This is the fairest and most honest way I have ever seen to share the wealth of the world without costing anything but our time!!! You also may want to buy mailing and e-mail lists for future cash. Make sure you print this article out RIGHT NOW! Also, try to keep a list of everyone that sends you CASH and always keep an eye on the newsgroups to make sure everyone is playing fairly. Remember, HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. IMPORTANT: If you're not interested to my article, (don't want instant cash?), please pass this message to anyone who wishes quick money. Thank you so much.=======================================Visit "Get paid to surf the web programs"http://webwidecash.freeservers.com==================================

I am up for a meeting. I live in S. Jersey -- not very far south -- Mount Laurel -- but I am a native of Philly and wish I had taken a PIC of me in front of Horn & Hardart's when it was possible to do so. Better yet, a PIC with my hands on the crank of the Automat's "gilt-edged" coffee machine.
Now, I am reduced to taking pictures of street scenes and writing daily essays to post on fotolog that may or may not have anything to do with the PIC. I also have the privilege of being father/grandfather to the hottest indie-pop musical act on the planet so I get the opportunity to take PICS of the band and their friends and post them to my fotolog and tell inside stories that many people enjoy reading.

I have met so many wonderful people through fotolog from all over the world. Many of them have become friends with whom I communicate in the broader realm of e-mail. I have met many fotologgers at my kids' shows. One of them was a professional photographer who contributed her skills to creating PICS that the band uses on its portal and home pages. Fotologgers have attended (that I know of) shows in Philly, NJ, NY, Australia, London, LA, SF, Miami and Chicago. They were kind enough to post this letting me know how much they enjoyed the show. One even sent me a PIC of herself wearing a band tee shirt which I [posted the other day.

Yeah, I'm up to meeting with all of you -- if you can get it together any evening except Tuesday when I work (I practice psychotherapy but don't get any ideas). Don't expect romance. I'm happily married. Don't expect me to pick up the check. If I do, I might not be happily married much longer. Expect me to be full of stories and ideas that even with my terminal shyness may be worthy of your time as yours will be worthy of mine. Oh, yeah, one other thing: I am is a professional writer so if my letters are intriguing to you, just think of how I seduced editors into buying my projects.

Lollipops and unicorns, or as our fotologger friends in Brazil might say, pirulitos e unicornios.

Garden next to Isaiah's studio is in danger!
Isaiah is asking for your help to find a way to preserve a unique piece of Philadelphia's art history. The property next to Isaiah's Studio, 1022-24 South Street, has become a landmark visited all hours of the day and night. It is a very popular tourist destination. People come from all over the world. Local residents visit regularly. The various trolley and bus tours have made it one of their stops. Isaiah often treats visitors to an inside look of the site.

Isaiah adopted the property when it was a vacant trash strewn lot. It is now an integral part of his mosaic world. This studio "garden" which Isaiah does not own is in jeopardy and must be saved so it can be shared, studied and enjoyed by the citizens and visitors to the city of Philadelphia in the future as well as now.

If you are interested in helping save the studio garden please call 215-327-9911 or email info@isaiahzagar.com

check out the daily times for implosion info.
After 33 years, a Philadelphia landmark is down to its last 17 days.
The Philadelphia Phillies, in conjunction with city officials, announced Wednesday that Veterans Stadium, home to the Phillies and Eagles for more than three decades, will be imploded at 7 a.m. Sunday, March 21.

Generations of memories will collapse in a 58-second explosion of what will be basically a concrete skeleton.

Brandenburg Industrial Service Co. is the demolition sub-contractor and Demolition Dynamics is its implosion sub-contractor.

On the morning of the implosion -- the first day of spring -- the area immediately surrounding the stadium will be off limits to spectators.

The area will be bordered by Lawrence Street to the east, 18th Street to the west, the Schuylkill Expressway to the north, and I-95 to the south.

Following the implosion, conventional demolition will continue, breaking the debris into smaller pieces of rubble more suitable for a landfill.

Once crushed, the concrete will amount to about 70,000 cubic yards of material. The hole in the ground at the site will require more than 400,000 cubic yards to fill.

Once the crater is filled in, additions of storm drains, concrete curbs, lights, signs and fences and the laying of asphalt will complete the project.

The entire process is expected to be completed by the fall and will result in 5,500 new parking spaces for the sports complex.

Once the parking lot is complete, the Phillies will commemorate the Vet by painting an outline of the StadiumÂ’s playing field and placing granite markers on the former home plate, pitching mound and base locations.

The four Joe Brown statues that were at various Vet entrances will be relocated to the perimeter of the new parking lot, two on Pattison Avenue and two on Hartranft Street.

A tribute to veterans will also be developed adjacent to the sidewalk on the North side of Pattison Avenue.

A considerable landscaping project, including the planting of hundres of trees, will also be part of the new parking area.

This is crazy stuff. They are called The Silents. Check out the website - the graphics alone are incredible. They are a philly based original reggae blues band with a real jazyy edge. I heard them live last week on South St.

Hey, Philadelphia area people. If you feel the Christams Spirit in you this year, you can go to the 30th Street Post Office...there they have an office FILLED with letters to Santa, and you can pick one out and help a kid or family in neeeeed. Ya never know who you can help until you read some of these letters! Intense!!! I picked out two myself-one kid who lost his dad this year and wants to see if he can come back for the holiday, and if not, he'd like some Yugio stuff-breaks my heart, but I love to help even if I do have threee kids of my own....share if you care...

10 pm - 3+ am

THIS SHIT IS NO JOKE! - a live drummer, a DJ, and bass player droppin it improvisational style with guest musicians and MCs from all parts of the world to create a new philly underground sound.

Last month was off the hook, as the party went on till after 3 am! Thanks to all who came out and supported. Mark Henasey (from South Africa) sat in on trumpet and sax. Jon H3Z (in philly on a book signing tour from the Netherlands) rocked the funky bass while MCs Mikey Mike, Kufie from Burndown, Trey Dog from Pittsburgh, GaryDann, and others stepped up to rock the mic. (Still looking for a female MC to come up. Jennie Jamz? ...anybody?) Danielle Domnahaline graced us with her oceanic voice, as she rolled through philly, visiting from her home in Ireland. You would regret if u forget DJ BRETT "sloppy" FUGGS FROM AUSTRAILIA on the vinyl- cutting up gd's ambient samples of live drum beats with feats of knowledge. SHIT! this kid rocked the house with a sick solo set too (i think he dropped bjork on top of miles davis at one point.)

Insane drink specials all night long!!! $2 Lager bottles, $2 Amstel Light bottles, $3 Jager Shots surprise drink special from 9 - 11

ALL are welcome.. if you live in the northern liberties area, come on out and meet the locals..
so come on out and join us!! *if your gonna check out our friends caveman @ the fire, come by for a drink after the show because the aqua is one block east & across the street. for more info go to www.aqualoungephilly.com.

I'm going to try to make it to Nodding Head tonight...to show support for Philly Fotologgers even though I haven't been very active lately uploading photos and I've taken a shameful backseat in the meetup process waiting until the decision was finalized to speak up. My apologies, but I'll try to come out tonight.

lordy! the last drop is smoke free? when did THAT happen? if that's the case, i think it would be ideal for meeting for knitting. what about meeting on a sunday afternoon? i almost NEVER have anything to do those days. perhaps we should start our own knitting discussion board. or, anyone interested, email me at callingearl@yahoo.com...

the fourteenth at the nodding head sounds swell. also, if anyone's up for starting the fotolog knitting society, i'm thinking we can hold sessions on alternate weeks. perhaps tuesday the 21st? i believe the last drop has become smoke free. so we could try going there the first week.

All right, how does Tuesday, Oct. 14th work for everybody for a philly meetup? That way we won't miss the folks heading to NYC on the "official" meetup day.
I'd also be down for arranging a "holiday" shindig closer to the holidays, whichever we want - halloween, thanksgiving, winter solstice, etc.

i would certainly hate to exclude anyone from nodding head - it seemed to me that the official "Meetup.com" thing wasn't working out, so i started this board in hopes of generating MORE interest, not different interests . . . i have no way of knowing who has RSVPed to the "official" meetup. however, i tagged an awful lot of flogs and am down w/ viv's suggestion to post it on our own flogs.

tritone is near 15th & south; nodding head is near 15th & sansom. while this is only a six block difference, nodding head is definitely easier to get to via mass transit.

those taking mass transit would only have to walk a couple of blocks to get to 15th & sansom: PATCO (15th & locust stop - 2 blocks away), regional rail (suburban station stop, 16th & JFK blvd. - 4 blocks away), or SEPTA subways (city hall stop, 15th & market - 3 blocks away).

as a result, i vote for nodding head, at least this time around.
viv..191  27
09-04-2003 12:13 PM ET (US)
nodding head is only 2.5 blocks from the clothes pin and all rails there, including suburban station. from south street just a little more exercise. we could always start at tritone and traipse to nodding, shooting while we travel.
I put a link to this board on the 191 flog.

actually i think tritone is as good a choice if not better than nodding head in terms of atmosphere and size - wednesdays (especially a little on the early side) are pretty laid back. also, it's very inexpensive there both in terms of food (which is excellent) & drink. bob & barbara's i love personally but it's a little dingy for something as classy as a fotolog meetup. the only thing about tritone or bob & barbara's is the location - not as close to public transportation. then again, parking's easier there....what do you say folks, nodding head or tritone? cast your votes.

sbbigbor -- Tritone is pretty excellent, and wednesday would be the day to go, since they do not have live music on Wednesdays. I think Nodding Head is a good 1st time meetup place, though, 'cause it's a little bigger and has a nicer atmosphere -- I wouldn't want to scare off any of our suburban constituents on our first outing!

philly meetup question #2 : do you have any suggestions for a good place to meetup? it's hard to say how many people will show up to the meetup, but i'd say a medium to large bar would best accomodate the needs of a philly meetup. i feel it is essential that it be within easy/walking distance to all regional transportation (i.e., city buses/subways, regional rail train to the PA suburbs, and PATCO speedline service to the NJ suburbs). a spot that comes to my mind is nodding head at 15th & sansom.
