LOOKING FOR A ROOM?
If you are planning on going on exchange in Leiden and you need a room: RooFS Foundation might be able to help you.
RooFS can intermediate between Dutch students and foreign students for the subletting of rooms. So you will be able stay in a relatively cheap room in one of Leidens (Dutch) studenthouses. It's really something to check out!
RooFS website is: www.roofsleiden.tk

Mrs. Jones was still cleaning the house when her husband came back from work. She was wearing dirty, old clothes and no stockings, her hair was not tidy, she had dust on her face, and she looked dirty and tired. Her husband looked at her and said, "Is this what I come home to after a hard day's work?"
Mrs. Jones's neighbor, Mrs. Smith, was there. When she heard Mr. Jones's words, she quickly said goodbye and ran back to her house. Then she washed, brushed and combed her hair carefully, put on her best dress and her prettiest stockings, painted her face, and waited for her husband to come home.
When he arrived, he was hot and tired. He walked slowly into the house, saw his wife and stopped. Then he shouted angrily, "And where are you going this evening?"
After reading my story, cuold you please give me your opinion? did you like the story? do you think it's funny? do you meet the same situation? is there any funny or curious story that relate to my story you can tell us. I'll be waiting.

Does anyone have any hints on finding accomodation in Leiden or thereabouts? I'm hoping to find a small flat in town for September, but I'd appreciate any general comments on finding accomodation in Leiden. How did you find yours? When is the best time to look? What's a reasonable price range? Cheers

regarding McMullen's column in this week's Mare, thankfully anti-Americanism is vigorously alive and well throughout the globe. It is also understandable that Americans in their eternal shame try to convince the rest of the world that they are not all hysterical, gluttonous, warmongering bullies. But as far as Europeans embracing American popular culture goes, McMullen should lose his illusion pronto. The average European is only morbidly and momentarily fascinated by non-events like the limp, pathetic and ingongruous right breast of Janet Jackson, and the hysterical reaction it received. Furthermore, active but non-violent anti-Americanism should be encouraged. Bush and his cronies are NOW in a position simply by implementing the hydrogen/purified water option researched by American scientists to solve the drinking water problem for the whole planet. But they choose not to, and it has nothing to do with economics, as it would cost per annum less than a month's war in Iraq. It is a mind stunning fact that the decision by this American government to keep the third world starving and thirsty is purely political. Remember that the average American consumes twenty times as much per day as a Mexican, thirty times as much as the average Chinese. America creates most of the world's garbage but greedily vetos any attempt to curtail its obscene consumption. As one famous tennis playing compatriot of McMullen put it, Bush is a disgrace to humanity. But McMullen and his compatriots certainly have the right to accentuate the positive, just let them make sure they help eliminate the negative by using their votes in November to rid the world of the most disastrous president in modern history. With Bush in power, it is quite simply every world citizen's solemn duty to be peacefully but persuasively anti-American.
