That's the real problem, isn't it... if you want something which is basically a computer, and a phone, you get the worst of both worlds. I'm not expecting battery life to match phone battery life -- ever.

Hopefully that "right design" will include decent battery life ? That's really the only thing that stopped me buying a converged device this time around.

Useful to know what figures IDC has retrieved for the plain old PDA market for 2002 and 2003. Harder to be sure that its forecasts for 2007 are terribly insightful.
