So I finally got around to downloading the new years eve pictures off my camera a few weeks ago. And now that I am sick and not up to doing much, I thought I'd go through the folder and name them.

Jon took well over a hundred pictures. Some pretty blurry, but most rather decent. I have looked at and named about half so far. Hopefully I'll finish over the weekend but I needed to take a break.

Alyce, next time you are over you can look at them and I'll get you copies of the ones you decide you want; I don't use online picture services and there are too many to just start emailing all the ones you are in.

Ditto for anyone else who is interested; Alyce was just the only person who specifically told me she was interested.

So, Steve "Crocidile Hunter" Irwin died. Stabbed through the heart by a stingray while filming a documentary.

It's sad, because of course this is a real human being who has died fairly young. Rest in peace.

But at the same time, I can't help thinking that this is exactly how every Crocodile Hunter spoof ever ended. It's a really bitter irony.

There are many cows in Wisconsin. In retrospect I shouldn't have found it shocking.

Done. :-)

Anyone else interested? Order will be placed at midnight.

In other news, the "This Is Otakudom" DVD will have a trailer for Scott's newer fan parody "STEAM: The Movie" on it as a bonus item. Guess how I know. Heh heh heh.

How about if next time we come over, I'll bring a couple CDs and we can copy over any of the photos that interest me. I'd appreciate it!

Speaking of pics, I actually got one really good picture of my nephew with Mike. It's in today's Musing.

That will work. Of course with me STILL being sick (and in fact having to stay home from work for the entire week because the infection has now moved into my ear and I am on THREE prescriptions now instead of just one) I have no idea when we will be up for company. But we will let people know.

Understood. We've got plans this weekend anyway.

More pics from our Vermont trip are in today's Musing.

LONG VERSION:

It just occurred to me with the passing of August that 2006 will eventually, inevitably, be taking the big dirt nap itself. With this realization comes the desire to commemorate the impending calendarical inauguration with revels, festivities, food, drink, and good company. In order that felicitous preparations can be effected without any undue surprise or distress for all concerned, please receive this message as a declaration of my intent to repeat last year's festivities at my home and residence as well as my invitation to you to attend.

SHORT VERSION:

New Years Party at Matt's Place!

I'd be happy to bring something. Details on the something will firm up as the date approaches, no doubt.

I'll be there with bells on, on a figurative level at least.

I'll be there, unless I get hit by a meteorite, or a Jersey driver, or something. Hrm, I wonder what the odds on the meteorite are...
