Has anyone here read The Bell Jar? If so I have a question. What happened to Esther when she went to the doctor for "a fitting" when she was getting better?

Plath Hughes sketch goes to...The National Portrait Gallery. I was kind of hoping Plath scholar would buy it to aid in the staging of elaborate soul-torture rituals. Not because I want to see old Ted burn, as my difficult-to-suppress Protestant unconscious already assumes his pagan ass is doing, but because something with dark rituals would have been more interesting than the National Portrait Gallery. In fact, anything would have been more interesting than the National Portrait Gallery. I get so bored here sometimes. Home

Auctioneers pretty sure horns and tail were drawn in later...A sketch of Ted Hughes done by Sylvia Plath may fetch a pretty penny. I guess that trumps Ted fetching his wooden nickel. I don't even know what that means. (From Bookslut) Home

"Sylvia Plath is to poetry as Bruce Lee is to the world of martial arts"Not so sure about that. See, Bruce was cool... How about this: "If Ted Hughes had died at tragically instead of Sylvia Plath, she'd have been to poetry what Bruce Lee's wife was to the world of martial arts". Quite correctly, Ilana Trachtman's recently released Biography Channel film on Sylvia Plath notes that ''her death would bring more fame than she ever achieved in her life." Home

Sylvia, The Show!I hope there's a scene with lasers and dry ice. Maybe she stretches her arms out, Christlike, at the end and ascends to a chorus of angels made up to look like feminist icons. I can see the wire! I can see the wire! Home
