Gaiko, short of overland to Uzbekistan and then a direct flight to Baku, the best solution would still be via Dubai if yr timing can be flexible.
AZAL has at least one daytime flight a week (leaving Dubai around 1400 or 1500) as opposed to the night flights.
You could ship the dog out on the earliest flight from Kabul to Dubai and, barring a hideous delay, make the afternoon flight to Baku.
Otherwise, you might have to google some pet moving companies and get them to deal with the Dubai layover.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to send animals (my dog) to Baku Azerbaijan? It seems like every flight from Kabul-> Dubai-> Baku has a day layover (and there are no longer direct flights to Baku). I *really* don't want my dog to be in some hanger overnight at the mercy of airline/luggage personel. Unfortunately I will have to go Kabul -> Madrid (meeting) -> Tblisi -> Baku which just won't work taking a dog along. Any suggestions (other than "ditch the dog") would really be appreciated.

Gaiko, I can save you the time -- Azerbaijan airlines was forced to stop their Kabul route a couple of months ago. My wife and I travel between Kabul and Baku a lot, so we pay pretty close attention to this one.
