I’m a correspondent who is leaving Kabul, and I highly recommend my driver for another job.
Abdullah has been with me for the past year and a half. He is honest, reliable and always on time. Apart from taking me safely around town, he has also helped with errands such as finding plumbers, paying bills, negotiating, translating and coming with me when visiting the more male-dominated places in town. In times of need, he has always done his utmost to help.
He speaks excellent English and has his own Toyota Corolla. He lives in Taimani with his wife, who works for an international NGO.

We have two good sized rooms available in the quiet and convenient suburb of Taimani. Rooms are comfortably furnished with a double bed, desk and chair, wardrobes and ceiling fans. The 4 rooms share 2 bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a large TV/entertaining room. Linen is supplied and changed weekly and rooms are cleaned as required. An excellent laundry woman washes and irons clothes twice a week. The house has good DSL internet and a generator for Kabul's occasional power failures. Afghan workers are present 6 days per week to clean and support residents. The rent is $600 per month (paid in advance) plus a share of electricity costs (approximately $100 every two months). I run a medical institute for Afghan girls and boys who were away from education and cant afford to pay their fees. The institute is short of laboratory products, reagents and books, especially money because students are learning for less money 1500afs per month and that fee is not enough to cover our all expenses Particularly to pay the rent of building.
