ninja, I love that you fell for this. I would have as well, because nothing surprises me about this woman anymore. I caught a recent interview between her and her husband and they came across all genuinely loving and in need of each other's affection. What kind of ridiculous fakery is that?

Actually, in another job I spent a lot of time flipping through the DSM -- the big book of psychological disorders -- and the psych-students around me had a game of analyzing pop culture figures through their media reports. Madonna is a classic borderline personality disorder, which means she is, in fact, the MacDonald's of personality -- as capable of adopting a new one as easily as she sheds the old ones. Good call!

This thread could have been so much fun if it was real.

It's a humour piece, FK, mocked up to look like a Reuters page on Yahoo. I picked it up from some else, though, Maud, so it's really getting out of hand. I should have known from the URL.

Madonna is still just schtupping Ritchie and writing about her cult. I mean, children's books.

This is my fault. I posted the link on Sunday morning without clarifying that it was a humor piece written by a friend of mine. Now it's spreading all over the place. I'm sorry about that.

Well, she seems somewhat intelligent. Or do I mean shrewd? And anyway, since when are Phd candidates smart?

Come ON! She Can't Even Spell PhD!

Madonna is the McDonald's of personality. Just like McD's can't leave a single burrito, curry, or drip goulash unsullied, but instead must exploit and McSanitize each "ethnic novelty" in order to cattle-prod some life back into its bored, drooling herd of "customers," Madonna can't keep her bony hands off a single stereotype of personality. Psychologists might call this "overcompensation" for not having one herself.

How did this figurine of Madonna get Maria Shriver's jawline?

Does Anyone Know How to Tie a Noose?

If Madonna makes one more red cent or shiny shilling off "writing," I'll be just about ready to check out.

Once, at a party in university, a very popular and good looking girl took an hour out of her life to moan at me about how difficult it is to be very popular and good-looking -- her secret fears of never finding love because she was so popular and good-looking -- her nightmares of financial ruin due to her popularity and good looks. I was very, very close to feeling sorry for her, but then I realized what I was feeling was actually a desire to sleep with her and give her all my money.

Little known fact... the voting was Coetzee 12, Madonna 11, with 2 abstentions.
