/m90 Hmmm... I'd have to say that the places I check on a daily basis are...

BoingBoing (out of habit, I suppose)
This Modern World (because Tom/Dan Tomorrow/Perkins is a good writer)
Vintage Mustang Forum (because I have one)

Only the top two are blogs and the bottom one is irrelevant unless you are interested in 1964 1/2 - 1979 Ford Mustangs. (personally I don't like much after 1966, but that's just me)

Z.

I've thought about whipping up some perl or python to suck in rss/rdf feeds (or screen scrape for sites that lack them) to automagically build discussion pages for sites that don't have them, but have lacked the time. BoingBoing and Instapundit are the 2 biggest ones now on my list for such treatment if I ever get around to coding it up.

the LiveJournal Times: deep insights scraped from LiveJournal pages. (no discussion, though.)

I wish they'd chosen Jason Scott as a co-editor!

I have to admit I've been quite pleased with his performance- I suspect that's why he's stuck around so long.

(And I still don't understand Zany Garden's behavior. First she gripes about trolling, then chooses the very juvenile, very baity 'Macki' as a guest? Either that's a setup, or it's very, very stupid)

In other words, becuase she wore a short skirt she was asking for it?

Yeah, Macki was obvious troll-bait, but that doesn't excuse the trolls. And his posts >were< interesting AND humorous. Not enough funny posts on BB. (I have to admit, his QT topic headings were a little bit too-over-the-top for me.)

The uber-blog that I am planning will be called either "uber-blog" or "powerstation" after the lame super band. Just thought I'd share that. Anyone know how to include three rss feeds on a page?

No way--it's a mixed metaphor. Xeni wasn't dating Macki, who was the troll-bait. Cory was in a coma. Beth was having an affair with David who still hadn't told her about his time in prison. Marc moved to Raratonga and got a fungal infection. Craniac seceded and created his own blog. FakeXeni got a nosejob. Next week on BoingBoingPalms.....

(errrrrr.... never mind. think I got side-tracked here [and mixed my verb tenses, too.]).

/m98 RIP Robert Palmer. Nice tie.

Took a walk around the bbtribenet, saw some familiar names, solid guys, but it creeps me out. The friendster vibe, the pictures. Guess I'm sensitive about my hump.

Pausing the Warblog for Now has this charming message:
Messages 3323-3316 deleted by topic administrator 10-11-2003 11:04 AM (not accepting new messages)

So much for the family squabble. Which >was< still on-topic. why was it deleted? If the commenters themselves decided they were ashamed of their words, QT allows them to edit them down to nothing. It's a pity they're gone, because it was an interesting example of a long-thread becoming >else< while still maintaining its original purpose (nominally). RIP, Pausing, at 3308 messages.

And tribe.net is down today.

Does anyone know of a free comment system that doesn't allow obvious spoofing alal QT? I am setting up http://anhedonic.blogspot.com as a metablog of sorts and would like to incorporate comments.

Chico (/m101) No need to post a picture to use tribe.net, but
if you don't want to, that's up to you.

Let me just say that I've been waiting to find you, Craniac
and Kirk Isreal there to add as 'friends'. I already found
xradiographer hidden there under his first name (Michael)
and ernie.
