Wow. I just re-read most of the messages on here and all I can say is Wow.
Anyway, here's my speel:
What I am willing to do to help this league:
I am more than willing to do what I did last year for the league. I will run this website complete with message board and will keep things basically the same. I will scrap all the 2003 stuff as it was grossly incomplete, and replace it with 2004 stuff. I will ONLY keep track of wins/losses/points for/against and schedules. And, as last year, I will do it all for free.
What I am not willing to do for this league:
I am not willing (at this time) to do league stats. Stats and standings are two different things. I am volunteering to do standings, but not stats, at least not this year. I offered this graciously last year and no one (other than Ryan) really cared enough to send in their scores. Sending/calling in your scores is a very simple concept. When you play, you call Cory, or e-mail him or me and they will get put up on the site. Perhaps the league should make it mandatory for all teams to do that? Something to discuss at the next meeting.
It looks like there are a lot of guys who are interested in playing in this league but there are very few who are interested in keeping this league alive.
I have been involved in the RTFI (Regina Touch Football Inc.) for the past 21 years. I've done everything from low life bitch to Vice President, I've seen the league run poorly and run well. You guys could have a very good league here again (as you once did), all it would take is a little bit of organization and a small amount of effort from each team captain. You guys are captains for a reason.
Anyway, my rant is done. Please keep me informed of what you'd like to do with your league this year. Thanks.

They weren't originally supposed to have a bye but since the Pharaohs dropped out three weeks into the season, dems the breaks. If you guys know enough people to able to increase the teams in this league to 8, let me know and tell them to be ready for next year. As for stats the Hitmen sent in theirs as did the Stonecutters so ask the Eagles where theirs are. I received a call from the Cowboys saying they didn't keep stats because they lost my email address therefore they couldn't hand in the stats. Although they were able to phone me to tell me this apparently they couldn't phone to ask me what my email address was again. As for the league being unorganized, yes it is. Everyone was invited to the meeting at the start of the year (excluding the Snipers) and only the Hitmen and one person from the Eagles showed up. Everyone has no problem beaking off about how to run the league but when it comes down to doing something, no one wants to do anything (except Darcy and his great web page, thanks again). For example this weekend the Hitmen play the Eagles at WH Ford. The Eagles did nothing throughout the year to help the league and they were the first ones to bitch about playing at Ford because the middle of the field is crappy. I told them that they could ask the Cutters and the Snipers to switch with us but they said they wouldn't be able to get a hold of anyone in time but I should go ahead and make the change. Why would I make the change if I did the schedule? I mean really, does it look like rain tomorrow and if it does boo-fucking hoo. We're play on the same field. Sorry to go off on a rant here but I can't stand people that won't help but have no problem throwing in their two cents, except for the Snipers that were added to the league after the meeting. So hopefully you guys show up for the meeting next year and we can do things the way we want.

The playoff format is bad. How can the Cowboys get an automatic bye to the finals? You guys follow sports, you must be able to think of some other playoff format. For example (Round Robin or Page Playoff system in Curling where -1 plays 2 Winner to final- Loser of 1 or 2 plays 5,
-then 3 vs 4- Loser is out and winner plays semi final against winner 1 or 2 vs 5)
Just a suggestion I am just crabby because the Cowgirls get an automatic bye to the finals.
Let's all think of ideas for next year and make the RATFL an awesome league.

I just heard that (we) the Stonecutters play the Snipers in play-off action this Saturday. Could someone please let me know the format of the play-offs this year? What the other match ups are this weekend, if we win who do we play, if we lose do we keep playing, since we play the last place team in the league does that mean the Cowboys get a bye, if so who do they play in round 2, these questions and many more need to be answered. Also kudos to Ryan and the Stonecutters for being the most organized team in the league. If this league had a little organization, more teams, refs for the play-offs it be something.

Cory, what I mean is that as we discussed at the beginning of the year and what I've told other teams through e-mail and somewhere on this message board, I was not going to do full stats, I was just going to keep track of all the game scores and standings, that's it. Back then I didn't think that it was rocket science for teams or whoever to forward me weekly game scores. What I ended up getting from you were no game scores at all and a whack of stats just as the season was ending.
So when I say that I got no stats from anyone other than Ryan, that's what I mean. I asked more than once that people send you and/or me the game scores, assuming that you would forward them to me if you got them. Somehow that all got misunderstood and was never the case.
There's been more than enough interest in this site since I've put it up and there would've been more interest than there was if people would've simply sent me the scores of their games each week. I will leave this site up for now, but if nobody in the league but 1 team is going to help contribute, then there's no point in having it take up space. I can do all the league stats and player stats, but there's no way that I will do it under these circumstances. The choice is up to you guys, I only got to play 2 games this year and I told you all that my team sucked, so it really doesn't matter to me. It's for the betterment of the league, not me.

What do you mean? I sent in the complete Hitmen stats to you in an Excel spreadsheet and you said you weren't doing stats. Anyway the Hitmen's record is 3-3-1.

I have updated the league standings and the schedule/scoreboard based on the information that I've been given. Hopefully seeing the lack of stats will help some teams forward their scores that are missing onto them.
The Stonecutters are crushing the league, but that's because no one has sent me the scores like Ryan from the Stonecutters did. (Thanks Ryan).
Sad to say that even my own team has lacked in that department as well.
Anyway, if you guys want stats, all you have to do is send me the scores of your games. Even your best guess is good too. If all goes well, then next year I can be prepared to do the full league stats as well. It would be nice to have however, we need the entire league's co-operation in sending me a simple e-mail from time to time.

Here's why there's nothing up on the site:
1-I have not received anything from anyone (standings, wins, stats, anything) until yesterday.
2-I received stats for 3 teams from Cory (Prez) yesterday. However, if you notice on the website, there are no links for stats. Since I agreed to do this for free this year, all I agreed to keep track of this year was wins/losses/standing etc. So now that the season is almost over, and that someone has finally sent me some information, I have to try and find time to put a statistics section up. That's not going to happen anytime soon.
When I made this website, it was simply for a quick reference for scheduling and standings. No team has sent me any scores for any games, thus I was not able to update anything. I can update the scores for the 3 games that my team has played, but that's it.
I hope that answers your question.

Why haven't the 5 man league stats been updated (Standings, Statistics)? Some teams have played 5 games and the season is almost done. Edited 09-26-2003 01:22 PM
