Sounds like the key boils down to understanding what we manage so that we can make the right choices and decisions as suggested by McLuhan and others...

There is a cost associated with everything, whether it be monetary or in this case 'sacrifice of privacy'. Fact about technology is that it is pervasive and invasive and in some cases downright abrasive. Once 'armed' with technology and utilizing(in an intrusive fashion) it in the communication's arena, mankind is trampling on its own yearning to breathe free. I cannot argue about history and evolution of 'Spying', but indeed it has 'adapted' to the 'rampant standards'. In the contemporary world technology is dominated by two types of people: those who understand what they do not manage, and those who manage what they do not understand.... and that reflects .....
