Laptop batteries differ from other types of batteries in that they provide a relatively short service life and are expensive to replace. In this article we look at the reasons why these batteries do not last and examine the high replacement cost. We also look into the possibilities of repairing them.
Most of today's laptop computers are powered with Lithium-ion batteries.

Under good conditions, Lithium?ion provides 300 to 500 discharge/charge cycles or 2 to 3 years of service from the time the battery leaves the production line. The capacity loss occurs through increased internal resistance caused by cell oxidation. Eventually the resistance reaches a point where the battery can no longer deliver the needed energy although the energy may still be present in the battery. There are no remedies to restore the capacity when worn out. Heating the battery will momentarily improve the performance.

i received a random email a few weeks back letting me know some oldies were posting on here. i thought it might be time to check in and read up a bit. well, to let all of you know, i did hear that little tim moved to california and is now on the avp. it seems befitting since he was the best player ever in lubbock. i mean, if you're the best in lubbock, why wouldn't you be the best in california? so, this past saturday i jogged down to east beach simply curious if the best of west texas would be making an appearance. sure enough, tim was down there with his partner playing against a couple of locals. east beach is a place of volleyball history. it is only proper that tim continue in the greatness that is east beach volleyball (i'm even scared to play there).
i wasn't sure, but a couple of hours later i think he was in the lineup next to me at devereux point. volleyball and surfing! now that rogers is going down, maybe you should take on slater.
also...lyons--you're a solid dude. miss ya man.

Well the results are in but it is no suprise. Kelly and Joey won again which makes it 5 years running. By the way the youngest guy in the final was 32 and that guy was me. Mike Todd and Gavin lost to us in the final. Funny posting from Tim early on the chat log about how Kelly is on roids and he carries me through the tournament. That shit is not funny. I have won this bitch 8 out of the 10 years I have played it. Show some respect as I might show you some day if you ever beat me. Rule one. Don't talk shit unless you can back it up.

Well despite half the team having the flu, and the other half confused about which sport we were playing we did ok. I believe we're ranked in the top 4 or 5 in SIVA going into the tournament, but we destroyed the number 2 ranked team. So if we can coalescence our moments of greatness into some form of consistency a SIVA championship game appearance is not out of the question. I myself didn't pee in a bronco, but it is possible that part of our club money could be traced to Gold Cup gentleman's club in north houston. Due to the sickness it was by far the soberest tournament i've ever been too, but i'm sure we'll make up for that at the championships.

Tim D. Are you seriously trying to sell this years team? You're probably the best player on the team and you bitch more than you play so that's not saying much. Also, the fact that your teams middle blockers are the least athletic people known to man kind doesn't really help you either. Don't lie to yourself... They suck. There's only two real good hitters on your team and that's if you can get them to show up and stop bitching cause they can't play where they want. I wouldn't pride myself on a team that walks-out on practice cause they "are being laughed at". Here's a tip, maybe you should stop spending so much time making out with the guys on your team and practice volleyball a little more.

Typical old people, they can talk shit on someone else's board all year, but after a few responses from the actual team on the board, the young uns have gone too far. Well in reply, to that degrading message, I'll come back with a little humility. I have never denied Mike T the ability to carry me, when it comes down to it, Nancy could probably carry me a ways through a tournament as well. As for Eric the eel granted he sucked, but he still got a standing ovation at the olympics for finally finishing the race. And in defense of myself, there are no Karch tattoos or even posters in the house. I haven't even done the always popular volleyball on the calf, or gavin's redsand on the back. I do have one question of my own though, so as I can make more fun of you old people. Who was on this "dream team" of ya'lls, and what position did they play? Oh and Kiracofe are you allowed to use the words "jerk off" if you work at a christian college? I'm just wondering if thats methodistically kocher.

Tim "the eel" Moussambani, let me say where i think things turned bad. back in the 20th century when you talked shit to make things entertaining you took shots at that person. i called you guys tittie babies, you called us old, good times. its when it seemed to turn into your own personal jerk off session as you talked about how good you are that things got a little annoying. hit me with a story TC told you about how when he would go up to hit i would run off the court like a little girl, so i can come back and say i'm sure you have a Karch tattoo somewhere and that's really gay.

burda's never been short of confidence, but not in a bad way. you've seemed to have taken it up a notch and gone a little heavy on the self-love.
"As for my own significance to the team...well, i'm the best."
i mean people don't actually say shit like that, do they? Eric Moussambani was the best swimmer in Equatorial Guinea and an olympian...he still sucked.

I don't think I know this Tim D. either. I guess I will just have to show up to see him play. When is the Spring Fling tournament? Is it still a one day thing? You know I am old, weak and probably will only last one day. By the way, Tim, I played with Gavin, Brent, TC back in the day. You can tell them I might be coming back just to watch you young whipper-snapper's take down all us old people. Well Joey B it sounds like you have been representing us well. How many spring flings have you won? I really think we might have to get the old team together for that alumni game.

Oh moffitt, you know it was all in fun. Plus, Kiracofe needs to talk his own shit, none of this team spirit backing each other up stuff. As for Spencer, I have access to several old people who like to tell stories. Do you remember Gavin, Brent, TC, Mike T. As for my own significance to the team...well, i'm the best. Or at least, one of them. But hopefully, a little trash talking will inspire you all to show up for spring fling, and make the tournament a little more fun again.

Wow, to hear a bunch of old men talk trash while their legs can't even keep up with their mouths. Moffitt is probably the youngest of all of you and he fucked his shoulder up the other day jumping...alone...without a ball...as he fell into the net.... Wow, way to represent that 90's dream team. As for the "whoopin on the tittie babies" at spring fling or in a rematch, you guys might want to throw in the towel now. First of all Steve D. "spaceboy" won't even be able to find lubbock come april, mike spencer will still be saying "I shouldn't be here" as he falls through the air with the remnants of his blocking leap. As for Kiracofe, I've never even heard of you, which probably means you're in your early gray-haired 40's. I'll give a little respect to Joey B since he actually shows up for spring fling and wins. As for the rest of ya'll you might just want to relive the glory days on film or at the bar, don't injure yourselves when you're losing to the current generation by 10. Oh, and Hammy, stop selling us out, since everyone came back to the club team, we've definitely pulled the past year's team out of the crapper. But hey, if you guys want a rematch send out a holler, moffits a great one-handed setter, i'm sure he could pull you through.

hello to all you slap dicks! i've got 10 or so beers in me right now and i have to say i like what has been created so far but it can be better. Sass has a pass (i hate that i just typed that)on spring fling b/c of the child coming for-to-with, but the more i think about it and talk about my schedule with the co-workers i think i'm inked in. So why don't we make this a huge blow out reunion? 1 of 2 things will happen: 1 we make the current men's team look like a bunch of titty babies and make them realize how great tech VB once one, or 2 we set a record for the number of EMS calls made for spring fling in a day b/c of the old dumb asses that think they could still play. if only the Lord could make us lucky enough that bivin shows up and gives us a full body cramp.

I was wondering if that was you Spencer. It's great to finally find you. You need to give me your contact info. So how's life treating you? I have 3 kid's and one on the way. How about you? As far as making you play grass 2's, you know I always had to have a big tall partner(or one with leaps) that could block all day while I played D. It seems to work.
So Sean how are things going? I just realized who you are as well. How has life been treating you? I see you are coaching?
Joey are you married now? I think the last time we spoke you were either getting married or were just married. Or am I making that up? I cannot remember.
As far as spring fling goes, I will have to talk to my partner before I will know. Here is a little history leason that you guy's may or may not know. This was around the time Casey was playing. I actually attended the first spring fling tournament and played with Brando. We were ripped of a first place finish because of a misunderstanding of an AVP rule(I can't even remember the rule, something about third game win by 1 to 7 or 8, i don't know, Anyone?). We lost to some team from out of town. It really sucked, maybe they will be there.

Mike sign me up for this year. I will be playing with Kelly Sterne again. All of you byaches need to make it out. I think we are going to play AA again this year at Nationals. Sean you must be bored as hell. It will be good to see you at Nationals but hopefully you can make it to Spring Fling. James my old roomate finally moved to Dallas so the free bar tabs in the LBK are over. Don't worry I am tying to get him to head out that weekend as well and see what he can hook up.

it would take a few days for bivin to dial 911 even if he was on fire, so no one here should worry about it if he doesn't call or email you back.
i almost went to spring fling last yr to play coed 4's to beat the shit out of a few soccer mom's trying to have a fun family day. i still own the skills to punish 40 yr old women and i'm proud of that. hopefully my spring schedule will let me actually do that this yr.
burda, i'll will most likely be at nationals this yr b/c it's in austin. if i'm playing....that's another story. we will see, but i'll be there to do what i do best which is drink wild turkey and lose all memory of what i did the night before.
i think i might play in some club tournys with SMU, but dont worry i'll throw the matches if we run into Tech.

Well all the rumors of tech men's volleyball going down the pooper are true. well as of last year they were. This year's team has potential, so we will see. Moffitt, i'm pretty sure you only know two guys these days. I took the Mike Spencer path to success and graduated in just under a decade. So i am no longer eligible, although i was trying to make a career out of club volleyball. Glad to see this board up and running.

I'm supposed to be playing Nationals this year since it is in Austin. My team is not that great but we try. It think we are going to play a whopping two tournaments if we are lucky before Nationals. Funny though, most of my team is ex-Aggies as well.
Joe, do you remember me? You used to make me play grass with you....

I'll sign up for springfling if someone gives me a heads up. I finally have a partner that works for me, so just say when. I cannot wait to finally play against all you studs again. However, I may only last one game:)
