Wonderful peice.

I have noticed several peices of this nature attempting to help others understand the "it" with respect to the Dean campaign.

Intimacy is really at the heart of it. Once people decide they can support a candidate based on the issues the intimacy of the Dean site, meetups etc really close the deal.

It will be difficult for the GOP machine to dismiss the Dean campaign without dismissing the people who have established a link to the campaign and their values.

The unknown for me is the media response. This campaign has to date made the media irrelevant. Not a good thing if you're runing a giant media property and counting on a huge windfall from the 04 elections. At some point they will be forced to attack the "free" internet since it will have become a significant threat both to their bottom line and their ability to control the message the sheeple get.
