Well won't be long now, just next week till the reunion, I am leaving Montana on Monday will be in DC that afternoon, going to see some of the town on my own, also a baseball game on Tue.

Everyone who served aboard Donner is a Cold War Veteran. I do not think I
can make it to the reunion this year. But, if any of you want to stick around
DC for a few more days, perhaps you can join us for our meeting. American Cold War Veterans, Apr 30=May 1. We are still trying to get a Cold War Victory Medal issued to all those who served during the Cold War. Read about

I was on the York County LST-1175 and transferred to the Donner to spend my last six months when the York went in to the yards at Jacksonville for repairs. I enjoyed my time on the Donner and was discharged on August 30, 1963. Even after all these years I still miss the sea and shipboard life.

Ed Green, I'm not sure about the reunion, depends on a lot of things. I'm sure going to try. About that, "Not getting any younger" thing, I haven't stopped the aging process completely, but I've managed to cut it in half. Instead of having a birthday EVERY year, I'm only having them EVERY OTHER YEAR!! This is the first year I'm doing it, so I'll get back to you on how it works out!! LOL.

Ed Garland, are you going to make it to the reunion in Washington D.C. this spring?? You better, we're not getting any younger and a lot of people would like to see you at least one more time. eg

George Paul, I served on the Donner from Sept. 52 until Nov. 55 as an RM2
so we were both in Operations; Do you have any way of getting in touch with
Oliver, I believe he was a YN3 and came from Maine; I had an email address for him at one time but I never was able to get in touch. As Prsident of the Donner Association I am trying to get in touch with some of you swabs from the Operations division and try and get you to attend the reunions, (we really have not been reprented very well) and we make sure everyone has a great time) This years reunion is really special as we will have a plaque placed at the Navy Memorial. Hope you get back to me.
