We just received our Donner reunion photo memory book from Patterson photography, we had to get a magnifying glass to look at the group pictures. Are my eyes getting that bad or did we get taken to the cleaners on this one? Where ever we go next year let's make sure the photographer makes a book like the ones we have gotten from the other reunions, one that you can actually see the pictures. Have a great 4th and we'll see all of you in ????? next year. Ed

Have to concur with all of you concerning the Washington reunion album picture size, the duplicate picture, and the many blank spaces in-between those pictures. Especially the group picture was a strain on the eyes. Since I am the one who is doing the San Antonio, Texas Reunion, you can be assured that I will have a few words with the photographer about how we imagine our reunion album should look. In fact, I will take the album in question with me to do a little show-and-tell before they go into action.

Hey Ship Mates,I found a message throught "Navybuddies.com" from "Woody" Woodward EN3 "A" div was aboard in 60-64. Said he saw Schuetz in 2007 also had got in touch with Fruge & Highlander, couldn't find Sparrow. I invited him to the Donner site & membership in Assoc. If anyone get that from Navybuddies would have seen too.

Thanks for the info navybuddies.com. I tried to register at login but the web site would not accept me. (I'm omitting something !). Would like to find Kenny Schuetz. We have Highlander and Fruge on the list for several years. They are not interested at this time.

I saw Woody's entry. Can you send him a message to possibly join our assn?

The Department of Defense was asking for questions for the Secretary to answer. Now is the time to vote, only a few days left.
On the DoD website vote yes on question Secretary Gates do you favor and will you issue a Cold War Victory Medal this year.

This morning, John Fuchs underwent surgery at St. Joseph’s Medical Center Baltimore, Md. John had a stint placed in his main artery.

John is in his usual very good spirits, doing real well, and will be going home tomorrow. John wants all you Donner sailors to shape up or ship out!

I was in service on USS Donner, yrs 54 to 56.....Boiler Tender, Boiler
Fireman....Buddied with Jimmy Clutts from Holly Springs, MS....Jimmy are
you out there?....Anyone else familiar with those years? Would like to chat at starks5667@sbcglobal.net if so. Officers were Dinwiddy (sp?)
over Boiler Room and electrical warrant officer, Mr. Goodman....... Just
accidentally fell into this site while hunting info about the USS Donner.
Am considering attending the reunion held in San Antonio, March 2010 if
I find anyone familiar to me is going to attend.......LOL, would like to
meet up with old familiar/unfamiliar faces and share history.......
