I've seen Mozilla import IE favorites for over a year, since pre-version 1.
There is a javascript personal toolbar item that will help you post a page reference to your MT installation. I assume that is what you were referring to?
Download file and then, when presented with the completed window, click on "Open"
Plug-ins, the only disconnect I've seen is Mozilla 1.x being incompatible with Adobe's SVG viewer. Generally, you will be taken to the appropriate plug-in page.
Now. I'm assuming you are using a Windows machine. Have no experience with other platforms.
You're right about the website and the documentation. The project is not doing itself any favors in that regard. However, at least until last week, they were basically a development and testing operation, not primarily an end-user operation. This is a cultural issue that may be endemic to all open source projects. Polish and packaging has always been seen as the value-added component where someone could finally make some spare change after all the hours of donated time.

PS: you're comments functions in MT can be configured to send you email too. Jumping to another app in another place a) gets people a little nervous about spam potenial, etc., and b) takes them away from reading another of your posts.
