I don't get it. I mean, I really don't get it. What kind of person would reach into somebody else's purse (or whatever) and take a big wad of cash?

I suppose I can understand how a person could do that. I can understand how it would be tempting. Nobody's around, there's this purse, woo hoo free money. But how can a person do that and then look himself or herself in the mirror? How can you do that and not feel like a complete and utter loser?

You know, I think some people have too MUCH self-esteem.

The cry did me some good. Now I have a raging headache, though. I got to cry and cry and cry and cry where snot and big, long strands of spit stream down your pants and onto the floor.

Oh yeah. There was guttural moaning going on. I think I cried out loud, "But I work so hard!" When you get that fucking sad, that goddamn desperate, there is only up.

It's just $240. It's not cancer. It's not The End of the World (wouldn't want to steal George Jr.'s thunder). Something will work itself out. I'll borrow the money. Or something.

And, surprisingly, I'm not that pissed. Now. After the crying so hard my soul ripped. After that, I rationalized that the money is gone, never to be recovered and to worry myself with it is senseless.

I'm trying to pretend I never had it.

I'm sorry this happened to you, Brittney. My ex-girlfriend had her wallet stolen out of her purse once, the perpetrators made out with cash, credit cards, IDs, everything. It took her about a year to get things straightened out. They made out with about 8 grand all told. Luckily she wasn't responsible for it. She felt very violated, very angry at the world, and helpless to do anything about it. I know that's what you must feel like now.

Let me know if I can do anything other than just be here to listen while you vent.
