It makes me sick to my stomach to hear people blame the Iraq war on America's greed and need for oil. First of all, America is on the cutting edge of doing away with the need for oil altogether. GM is scheduled to release it's first hydrogen powered car to the public in 2006. What other country has worked so diligently on this project? Also, the world's first fusion reactor is scheduled to be complete in America in 2012,thus providing endless energy for the entire world.
Second of all, how anyone can overlook the tragedys and genocide committed by Saddam and his regime are beyond me. So what if Bush's administration made up the report of WMDs to gain the UN's support to go into Iraq. I think it's appalling that it takes something like that to get their support when innocent women and children are dying at record numbers in Iraq. This war is worth it, just to liberate the women of Iraq. What they have gone through brings a tear to my eye when I think about it. My best friend's mother was raised in Iraq, and the stories she has told me of women being abused is sickening. Did any of you know that saying no to a man, even for sexual favors, is an offence punishable by death or disfigurement. Make that,WAS, thanks to Bush
