I'm keen on the philosophical stuff, as sloppy as it is. I think it's cool that Reloaded covered Causality theory, even though it was terribly elementary and haphazard. However, this doesn't mean that won't resolve itself in Number 3. Besides, I went back and read some Hume and Plato and for the first time, Ayn Rand. An action movie inspired all that. Neat.
I have a couple of hunches about 3, not theories, really. I just wonder if ***SPOILERS AHEAD, YO*** Neo might be a program and if Persephone is the mother of the Matrix. These are thoughts that occurred to me while watching the movie and because I got really baked beforehand, I can't quite remember how I came to those speculations. I'm gonna have to see it again.
Anyway, I thought the second one lacked the style of the first. Perhaps because it took place more in the ugly Real World, I dunno. Overall, however--quite enjoyable.

My initial reaction, after seeing Reloaded, was to dismiss all the talk as nonsense just to fill time. It is nonsensical to a degree that could only be intentional. Actually, I will stick with that theory until I see it at least one more time.
But I definitely don't agree that The Matrix is all about the fight scenes. I could see much better fight scenes in any real kung fu flick if I was into that sort of thing. I re-watched the original Matrix recently and was reminded of what a great movie it is overall. What I remember most is the style of the film. My favorite scene has always been the opening Trinity scene, right up until the point where the action starts. Well OK, I like it after the action starts too.
But getting back to Reloaded, I worry that I'm being too quick to dismiss all the talking that takes place as nonsense. After all, if you didn't see the second half of the original, the first have would have seemed like a bunch of doubletalk too. So maybe it won't be until the third movie that the second comes into focus.

I like The Adventures of Bill and Ted much more than The Matrix. Bill and Ted broke much more important ground. They made me laugh.
