we used to do that when i was a kid, break 1 or two fins off one of those mini 75 cent rockets and launch. same effect too, tight spirals.

it was a party i went to this weekend. the unusual flight pattern was just v. tight spirals. a few years ago, using a cooked sausage with a curve, caused the rocket to fly horizontally, turn out the gate and right into the windshield of a cop car turning the corner. they were pretty cool and just asked us to turn down the music. that design also used 2 engines and when i went to retrieve the rocket (after the cops left), one was still usable, so we made a 2nd rocket.

at what event was the rocket constructed?

is there video of the "unusual" flight pattern?
