We had a corpse flower blooming and on display at the botanical garden here in San Diego last year as well (also billed as the worlds largest flower) It gets around apparently.
By the way ... it reeks "like" rotting flesh ... not "of"

These flowers are indeed foul. My aunt forced me to go witness one at the Miami botanical gardens. We were there about 2 days after it bloomed. The whole building stank of rotting bologna. And that was after 2 days of airing out.. I can't imagine how nasty it would have been the day of the actual blooming. Yick.

There was a big stink (oh I kill me) about one of these that bloomed in our local botanical garden here in S.F. two years ago. apparently, these flowers only bloom every couple of years or more, so it's a rare thing for it to bloom. And, apparently, it's most foul.
