I love my T610 but I worry that if I lose it that I will lose all my phone numbers in it. I use it for business and have over 100 client's numbers. Is there a way to save the phone numbers to my computer at home? If so, what product do I need and how do I do it. I have windows 2000xp on my computer.

I'd say your phone was pretty much history, sadly.

wish I could offer encouragement! - but it sounds terminal. Sorry!

Can't believe what I am reading!!!! Why the hell did I send my phone to this Celestica place! They are useless by the sounds of it...Grrr I woke up one morning to find the screen on my T610 distorted in blue/yellow colours....took it to 02 shop and apparently it had had too much pressure placed upon the screen...it was only in my bag though!
Anyway, they advised me to send it Recorded delivery asap to Celestica and then received an invoice to show that if repairs went ahead it would cost me £60+ and to let them know whether to go ahead with this or not....how I can do this when their bloody phone line is so shocking I have no idea- record time of being 'in the phone queue' waiting for a response stands at just over half an hour, from another mobile as I do not have a land line. So, what exactly am I meant to do?! Anybody out there who can help me??

T610: After 10 hours charging, battery doesn't last more than 6 hours. BlueTooth headset doesn't stand 2 hours IN STAND BY, it crashes as you try to SMS, swap from messaging to SETTINGS, crash and shut down without any reason and all data is lost, including GPRS settings. SonyEricsson folks told me that "their policy" (that NO ONE KNOWS before opening the box) is "to send for REPAIR" (imagine, a BROKEN product in the box) for A TRIP AROUND EUROPE. In short, you pay HELL of CASH for a buggy product believing that you got the cutting edge tool and they can't afford to REPLACE it in guarantee, leaving the customer WEEKS WITHOUT ITS PHONE. Useless to discuss with them after your money went away on their pockets. No wonder NOKIA is the leader, Ericsson was saved from bankruptcy by Sony and now all got even worst. Laws of nature will make its job, no firm making such bad products and policies can survive the competition.

Bad news for all potential T610 buyers, I bought one from CPW on Saturday which is Week 23 manufacture and software version R3B and I have both the hissing noise and problems with bluetooth- in particular the XTND software and Sony image suite cannot "see" the phone. However I know bluetooth is working as "my bluetooth places" (user app supplied with my bluetooth dongle)can see and pair with the phone!
Any ideas/suggestions welcome.

Good question. I'll ask...

Well all credit to CPW - not two weeks for a replacement T610 but 2 days. The new one is also an 03Wk19 phone but with no hiss and fully working bluetooth so all is now well. Interestingly the new handset has software version R2E and the old one was R2A - maybe this is the key to the bluetooth problem ?

Cheers - Simon

My T610 is an 03Wk19 model bought from CPW in Islington, London - at first I put the hiss down to the "Ericsson" sound (I was upgrading from a Nokia so I figured it would sound different) but after a quick web search I realise that this is the much discussed faulty hiss. My phone also has the the dodgy bluetooth problems (when used with a HBH-30 headset) that some users are reporting and a call to CPW today confirmed that they would be happy to replace the phone as soon as they have some more in stock - expected 2 weeks time. Other forums suggest that we should not accept any phones that are pre 03Wk22 manufacture (on the label behind the battery) so let that be a word of warning to us all !

Apart from that it is a fab phone so dont be put off - just check the sell by date !

Good luck - Simon

It's pretty unforgiveable. If you bought this in the UK, I think you have a water-tight case for returning it to the vendor for a replacement as "not of merchantable quality" - it's a known issue with this model.

If that doesn't work, let me know details, will you?

Cheers,
Guy

Uchh..Picked up the t610 yesterday and was promised no hissing. Of course its hissing so bad I can hardly think. Does anyone know of a telephone number or email address of someone who works directly for Sony Ericsson and is the one to talk to about getting this phone exchanged and/or repaired. Like the rest of you, extremely dissapointed and don't know what to do?

Thanks

Here is my history with the T610. I set the phone for AT&T services (GPRS) and the phone worked excelent, I made some calls with not problem (just a little his) until I turned on the Bluetooth and I connected to the Wireless Headset (HBH-30 SonyEricsson). The light on the screen started to be a little unstable (flicker) and when I make the call I get a noisy background in the connection (you can see that the noise is synchronized with the little flicker on the screen). Looks like the phone doesn’t have enough power to support Bluetooth and call at the same time. Also, the screen is terrible in summer days (beautiful when you are inside your house). I can read the letter on the screen much better in my old T68i. I think that Sony will come with a new T610x with better screen and better sound. I sent it back to eXpansys.

Boght a T610 on Monday from Carphone Warehouse after seeing my mates on Saturday. It's great, but there is a noticable hissing and voice distortion when someone speaks to you. I'm taking it back today. Oh, and my mates appears to have the same problem. I did a straw poll at work, getting people to have a conversation on it without telling them the problem...all noticed the poor voice quality/hissing, so I'm convinced I'm not imagining it. Good job I still have my old Nokia 330 as a standby!

My first T610 (production week 17) from Carphone Warehouse had a very bad hissing problem and the bluetooth function did not work properly. It was replaced without fuss for another one (production week 21), and this too has a similar problem: the hiss is still there, but less noticeable. However, the bluetooth is working brilliantly.

Apparently, Celestica do not actually solve the problem, rather just alter the soundsettings somehow - such that all sounds are reduced in volume! (but the hiss is kinda there!)

The official word from Sweden is that there were a few, but only a few - and that they are repairable.

But my source has sent his back and discovered that Celestica were quoting 4 weeks to fix it. So he's sending it to Sony Ericsson with a rude note...

Since then, about half a dozen people have phoned me, saying that they too have a problem. I've forwarded these notes to Sony Ericsson where I can; I'm still waiting for a reply.

I ordered the T610 off a website, but they said that T-Mobile were recalling them due to technical faults and the possible turnaround is anything up to 2 weeks+. On calling T-Mobile, they said there was no such problem. Confused?
Went into a Vodafone store on Oxford Street, all the staff have a T610! They seem to be fine!

Guy.. How long did it actually take Celestica to repair it? Was 24hrs accurate? I've just sent mine to them and was wondering. Cheers PBW

Got a SE T610 as upgrade from Vodafone last week. Noticed the "hissing" sound straight away. Vodafone exchanged a new T610 yesterday (they said they haven;t received any reports of faulty T610). Charged it up, made a call, same "hissing" in this new phone. So am now a bit stuck, don't know what to do. I really like the phone and want to keep it, but the hissing is unacceptable & annoying. Does anyone know any SE dealer/ service agent in London who can fix this problem?
Many thanks, H

If it's a Sony-Ericsson T610, send it back...
