I admire your curiousity and courage. We already read your thoughts, musings, photos and memories but all of this is voluntary. I couldn't do it. Too self conscious. If you wanted some privacy (whatever that means these days), it's your window, whether the blinds are drawn or not is really nobody's business but yours.

Interesting. It is funny to hear you say some of this. being a newbie to the site, I thought it had been a long standing feature. You seem so comfortable. I suppose if I had read the past logs more...I would have know that. (Thank you Capt. Obvious).
Anyway, it is fascinating this technology we have. I enjoy the show. Even the desktop cam.
Have a great weekend.
Oh..and to fill in a piece of your puzzle....I'm the verizon.net entry in the log. :-)

Yeah. You should turn it off. I need to get out of the house.

stacius: I thought you should know that I put that photo you sent of Dan the Man in the dash of my car.
It cracks me up, so there it stays.

65.106.237.ish. If you were wondering. I do the same thing with web access logs. I'm always curious to know how people got to my site, how long they were there, what they were looking for, whether I'm what they wanted to find. It can be very addictive. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have that kind of info live. I'd never get any work done. Tim

Brittney, Nope, you don't know me. I came from your MeFi User page in a round-about way.
The Webcam can be an addictive thing, I'm sure you'll get assorted requests, like "gee would you scratch your itchy nipple?" etc.
When it starts creeping you out just turn it off, if it starts turning you on, perhaps you should also turn it off.

I have gotten but one request.
And, it doesn't turn me on. I'm not that easy.

Brittney:
Just think: you're already feeling kind of freaked out by the webcam after only two weeks. Imagine how Jennifer Ringley must feel after all these years in the public view. These days her site's main attraction is as a freak show, where the public can witness her painfully obvious sense of duty to carry on. She's not having a lot of "fun" with it anymore that I can tell. It seems more like a high-tech Hell.
Her biggest mistake was trapping herself in the whole fee-based scheme, where she's obliged to display herself to her "subscribers." I'm surprised she still has subscribers, as it's really not that interesting to watch. She's no longer the groundbreaking young college girl who obviously relished the thrill of masturbating for an audience. Instead she's just an ordinary woman on her way to middle age, with a job and a mortgage and a husband, living under a watching eye that never blinks. It's quite sad, really, and rather uncomfortable to watch, especially when Dex is on-screen.
So yes, while it is curiously fascinating to watch you go about your business (what's she writing? what's she thinking? is she high? is she happy? is she tired?), I'd hate very much to see you fall into the Jennicam trap. Turn the damned thing on or off whenever you want. It's your life, and nobody owns you.

This is how much of a geek I am. When I checked out the cam, I had to zoom in on the PC screen to see what was going on there. All due respect to your hawtness brittney, but I saw a computer on the internet and said, "Cool, computer on the internet!"
Unfortunately, you can't read anything at that resolution. It was like trying to read a scrambled cable channel.
But now the PC screen is gone. Oh well.

I'm with the kid. I looked at the people cam once, but I was way more intrigued by the computer cam. I looked at that 3 or 4 times. Never could read a damn thing though.
But come on fess up now. You were really just hoping the wishlist items would come rolling in right? Now that they haven't, I mean who wants to be on display.
Seriously though, for what it's worth, I don't think I can imagine setting up a camera in my space. It seems really invasive. I recently posted a personal, semi-embarrassing entry on my site, and even that freaked me out a bit. So kudos for experimenting.

I hardly think I'll fall into "the JenniCam trap." I feel absolutely no sense of obligation.
Just want to get my $50 worth. (I went ahead and purchased the software.)

What ebk and will said. The screen cam was great. Especially when you were reading the Pile and I got exceedingly jealous and greedy and tried to see what was behind the great mysterious walls of wonder. And when I saw you leaving this comment on jonmc's site. But you're no more obliged to keep it on than you are obliged to eat your Wheaties. If it's freaking you out, by all means, keep it off. That said, I'm kind of surprised at your propensity to leave it on while you sleep. That would make me way paranoid. Of course, I guess you probably don't get morning wood, huh?

I was under the impression that text and such could be seen on the screen cam.
If most everything is obscured, I may leave it on.
