This has got to be one of the greatest things I have ever seen. Sort of like the Buchla Thunder http://www.buchla.com/historical/thunder/index.html but with much better visual feedback. Horns - just because you don't like the sculpture, don't blame the quality or potential of the chisels. In talented hands this thing will be amazing. Or in the case of those of us with increasingly arthritic hands, it could be a sanity-saver.

And why is it even remotely relevant that it was implemented using Linux? Or is boingboing taking a page out of slashdot's book? Who really cares what's under the hood?

I think you're missing on the potential applications of this technology. What about a 'light keyboard' projected by a PDA? Or has that already been done?
