MORE BAPTISTS THAN OTHERS PART OF THE 18% CHENEY APPROVAL RATING

This writer sat in an Baptist church this morning, responding to
an invitation to attend, and listened to the pastor give a prayer that
soldiers in Iraq have the grace to carry on with their mission. (This is a
prayer which violates the teachings of the pacifist Jesus who told Peter to put down his sword, who repeated the words of His Father "Thou Shalt Not Kill", and who said that if someone smite you, turn the other cheek.)
Around the country, Baptists more than any other denomination have been
targeted by the CIA neocons for the past 50 years with programs of
militarization and takeover of churches.
Sheepish obedience of authority, both governmental and male, is drummed into the congregations of war churches.
At least 1 book has been written on the CIA militarization of
Southern Baptists.

An oft used song of those who want to militarize churches is "Onward Christian soldiers... marching as to war".
This particular congregation had no blacks
in attendance.

nonviolence,

those of all paths, now and always.
