Without Classic (with Netscape Navigator 4.7) I would not be able to do my online banking on Macintosh. I would be forced to "switch". It's that simple. Apple Computers Inc., as well as the Macintosh community, very often "forget" about the international users. We are used to this cinderella status, but with the little attention we get from Apple, and without the critical numbers you enjoy in the States, many of us might soon be forced to give up on Macintosh altogether (in my case after 17 years). Current market share in my country? Hovering around 1% and dwindling, I would guess. Apple doesn't tell. Sic transit gloria mundi.

I have one Classic app I just can't give up: Shanghai. Yep, I've been addicted to that game for years and years. It doesn't work too well in Classic, but just well enough. Yes, I know there are other, similar games, but, oh, how I'd like an OSX version of Shanghai!

At work I am Classic free. At home I have unsupported Macs. My G3 upgraded 1400c is landlocked at 9. My G3 oufitted 7600 purrs along as a capable Jaguar machine, though classic is there for graphics as no color picker works in X for me on that machine. So I must boot classic graphic apps to use a color picker or open the file on my 1400c... I'd buy a new machine, but I am waiting for Panther to hit.Got bit by Jaguar with the wife's iBook... two weeks after the purchase Jag comes out and her book doesn't support the graphics boost... anyone think Panther will contain more "you need the latest" surprises?

I've been Classic free on my work machine for quite a while. I've kept it on my home machine for a few games for my kids, as well as PageMaker. Now that I have InDesign, I'll probably ditch Classic when I need the hard drive space.
