Most of the current tablets are a standard Taiwanese design...

I believe it's Tatung...

I've not seen the 4110 W. Wonder what it actually looks like. I can feel a Google session coming on!

I have a Fujitsu 4110 W and it is very good but creating a network client has been a hassle since the image is different to XP in so many ways, which is I guess why it came with a restore image on it.

So much better than my Thinkpad for taking home, has plenty of oomph for programs, and the docking station is great. Best thing is the leather case which has a velcro tab that allows you to use it and the infra-red keyboard just like a traditional laptop.

Main problem is lack of Centrino (= poor battery life) and cost. I brought a project in £35k under budget so I bought one with all the toys, but its twice the price of a normal laptop. Still attracts great attention though.

What would you want in an Apple Tablet? Keyboard?

Perhaps tablet PCs will take off if Apple introduces one. So far all of the Windoze based tablets that I have seen look like real kludges.

I've seen some strange suggestions about why Tablet PCs aren't everywhere. According to DigiTimes, it's Microsoft's fault, for not promoting it. According to The Inquirer, it's the PC makers' fault for firing all their staff who would be the only likely customers.

In reality the problem is Centrino or rather, the lack of Centrinos. But there is more to it.

Did you know, for example, that some Tablet designs may actually be illegal in the EC?
