Brian -- You can get some Munster, right? Munster on rye is the best grilled cheese ever. Bet.

Rooster sauce, rooster juice... just don't call it "cock sauce".

I don't know why I can't find pho in Deutschland. My theory is that someone had tried to popularize it once over here, and it failed, so nobody will try again. Germany can be very conformal that way. Then again, maybe there is pho to be found in other big German cities. Dresden isn't exactly oozing with culinary culture. Otherwise it's a great place to live!

Rooster sauce. That's good. I never know what to call that stuff because I've given up on pretending like I know how to pronounce the name on the bottle.

Why do the Vietnamese places in Germany refuse to serve pho?

Love the shirt.

I could hardly finish viewing the pho pics. See, I've been living in Germany for almost a year, and while there are plenty of Vietnamese eating establishments, they refuse to serve pho or vermacelli (sp?). My lovely wife did manage to find a very large jug of rooster sauce (pho's main condiment, scientifically known as "Sri Racha"), but pizza is the only thing I put it on these days. Good cheddar cheese is too rare and expensive over here to make grilled cheese sandwiches, which go great with rooster sauce, you should know.

OK, time for breakfast.

Oh, I got that shirt while I was in Los Angeles. On Melrose, I think.

I left it behind in my drunken stupor, but my main man in LA (whom I think must have gone oft and died since he has ceased all contact) mailed it to me. That was the first night I ever got to wear it.

I was so overdressed, but isn't it SO CUTE?

For the record, I don't think that I ever told anyone to hold their arms like this. But then, I was kinda dranky.

And now . . . International Pad Thai/Bourbon meetup day? This fall? On your side o' town, maybe? Let's set a date!
