pool clerk: You can only be on the OTDL in your domiciled section. If you are domiciled in section A, but you are assigned to cover in section B for two weeks, you are not available for OT in that section, UNLESS all who are domiciled in section B are utilized/maximized. For the purposes of section B, you are considered to be non-OTDL.
Now, if there is OT available in your domiciled section, and you are available for it, you should be in that rotation.

Impostal36265, FIRST IF YOU ARE A PTF GETTING LESS THEN 40 HOURS AT YOUR POST OFFICE INCLUDING ANY STATION THAT BELONG TO YOUR POST OFFICE THEN THERE MUST NOT BE ANY CASUALS WORKING AT YOUR POST OFFICE INCLUDING THE STATION. If there are any casual's working then Management is violating Article 7.1.B.2 of the CBA and you need to contact your Steward immediately!! If your steward says as long as you are getting more hours than the casual there no grievance then they are wrong. Contact your local business agent or Vice president or even the local President. That is a VERY a common misconception about casual's. BASICALLY, A CASUAL CAN NOT BE SCHEDULED TO WORK EVEN 1 MINUTE UNTIL ALL PTF'S HAVE WORKED 40 HOURS. Since you're a PTF Clerk then your PO must be under 200 many years and therefore Collective Bargaining Agreement Article 8.8.C guarantee's you 2 hours of work. But if you are scheduled to work at at PO 200 or more man years then you are guaranteed 4 hours. Basically it depends on the man years of the office you are scheduled to work at. Finally, as long as you have the same skills as the other PTF's at your PO including the station's then management should be "equalizing" all the PTF's hours (as long as you have the same skills like scheme or window etc.). Remember that Station's are still part of the "Main office" or "PO". So, If you file a grievance and Management cuts your hours then they better be cutting ALL PTF's hours. If they are retaliating agianst you for filing a grievance and you can prove it, thats called "REPRISAL" and is against the LAW!! Talk to your STEWARD IMMEDIATLEY. DONT BE INTIMIDATED thats what they want.

Carry a notebook with you and DOCUMENT every rotten little thing said and done to you. Write down any witnesses names. When push comes to shove, you will have a nice, tidy journal of their BS. Good luck!

Jack Cass, I'm now being told that there are 2 OT lists in my domiciled station. One for pool clerks and one for clerks who only assignment is at the domicile station. The only way I can work any OT is if they bring in both of us. I was also told that there wouldn't be any rotation. Is there anything in the contract? Do I have a grievance? I could use some help with this. Thanks.

pool clerk:
Tell ya what. Get yourself a copy of Item 14 of your LMOU, and tell me what it says.
If your LMOU has specific language, OK, that controls.
If not, the National signoff controls, which means that you can only be on the list in your domiciled station. That also means you are NON-OTDL in the stations in which you are part of the relief pool. What does that mean? It means that if both you and someone on the OTDL in the station to which you are pooled are both available for OT at the same time, the domiciled clerk gets the OT. If they need TWO at the same time, and you are the only other one available, then you get some too. But, you will disappear if say, one hour later, another domiciled clerk becomes available.
However, let's say you are scheduled to end tour at 1330, and no other clerk in the station you are pooled to is available, they can work you up to 2 hours OT (remember you are non-list) or until the first OTDL clerk becomes available for OT, at which time you disappear, or work simultaneously.
Hope that helps.
