The 26 PTF's in our Plant were jumping for joy when the 200 man year rule came into effect. They became full time regular clerks and now 18 have been sent to other jobs some over 200 miles away. I think the PO knew what it was doing when they agreed. Union Leadership played this like it was a great thing for Clerks but fell right into the PO's hands.

So many PTF's in small offices are not being converted due to Art. 12 excessing. The only thing we career PTF's have to save us is our collective (total) years of service if there is a RIF. Also, since many from 200 man yr ofcs have less than 6 yrs, Adios, along with the TE's and casuals end of contract.
(If you had a break in service, you start a new 6 year requirement)

There are swaps going on. I know of two clerks from Las Vegas to Virginia that swapped.

Practically the whole country is under Article 12 withholding due to expected FSS impact.

No one is able to transfer clerk to clerk from one facility to another in my office as well.Excessing is occuring and a few carriers positions are being filled by people 200 to 500 miles away.Twice in the last three months,HR manager and Plant manager have visited pay location to pay location sharing information about how an employee would go about transferring to carrier.The writing is on the wall to say ther least for many clerk and mail handler positions.

e-transfer? are you kidding? I have been on there for over 2 years, there is a clerk freeze and unless you are being excessed, you are stuck where you are

Post your city and state in hopes that a career employee may want to e-transfer. Also, notify the union covering your office so they can step in and fight to keep the postion. Your PM will be pressured to abolish the position. Great for PFP.

I am taking early retiremnt as a PTF-SSA at a small office where I am the only clerk and fill in for the postmaster. If they don't get a re-assign PTF to take my job, they will get a casual for the office. Has anyone ever heard of a casual window clerk/postmaster replacement? This sounds awfully funny to me.

Tracy Franseen, manager of post office operations for northwest Wisconsin, approached Mikula about the possibility of organizing a uniform exchange for postal workers in the district.

Like any loyal employee of the U.S. Postal Service, Mikula delivered.

She got the program off to a strong start serving folks in the 547 and 548 area codes. As word got around, what Mikula named the Postal Clothing Closet grew and attracted attention in regional and national Postal Service newsletters and blogs.

As a result, the tiny post office in the unincorporated Dunn County hamlet of Sand Creek (population: 175) has become the bustling hub of the postal clothing world.

"Pretty soon I was getting boxes and boxes of stuff," she said. "It's been crazy. I'm sure I'm a lot busier than a lot of bigger post offices."

As volume increased, so did the amount of space in her post office Mikula had to devote to the donated clothing and accessories. She now has three large racks of clothing with about 300 carrier slacks, 500 clerk shirts and many other items, all sorted by style and size.

If you have lost your card, it can be replaced. If you lost your allotment, then you do not have to wear an official uniform. Just dress professionally.

Lost my credit card for my clothing allotment for this year, forgot all about it due to long hours out of town and now am out of luck. Anyone have any women's xtra small window shirts? I used two for two years, and am now ready for at least one more. We don't have to wear the pants, and I have a great sweater, which I never need, but my shirts are beginning to show wear.

If not, another year with these two shirts, oh well. I hand wash, so they are not that bad. No stains or tears. Hairspray took out any red ink I got on them.
