Commercial printing co. is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager in Bend, Oregon. This temp to hire position is reports directly to the CEO. A job description for the position is as follows:

Summary - Responsible for the successful operation of all aspects of the Operating Center for a commercial printing co. The OM will recruit, select, manage and motivate the Operating Center team who carry out all of the day-to-day functions necessary to build and maintain an efficient production environment.

Quality of services and maintenance of exceptional customer relationships are foremost requirements. The OM will be familiar with every step of the production process, quality initiatives and customer requirements to assure complete satisfaction by the clients served.

This position requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Presort/Print business. The OM must be knowledgeable of all presort processing technology, as well as Moonlight Mailing systems and platforms necessary to effectively operate in a time-sensitive business. Planning and leading internal and external growth of the business is an integral part of the OM’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
Customer Service/Sales
• Build a solid working relationship with major accounts. Interface with major customers on a daily basis, ensuring all performance expectations are met or exceeded. Schedule regular meetings, provide reports, and data and address customer concerns with timeliness.
• Assure continued communication with major account customers on matters relating to production, quality and special client request.
• Lead sales initiatives at assigned Operating Center and provide on-going support of corporate sales initiatives.
Administration/Planning:
• Develop and recommend short and long-range objectives consistent with corporate goals and guidelines.
• Oversee and participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of annual operating budgets, ensuring that operations are managed within established guidelines.
• Review plans and adjust as required to ensure financial objectives and commitment are achieved.

Operations:
• Resolve operating problems within operating units, alerts the CEO, Owner of problems of major significance to the company or that may impact other operating centers.
• Monitor daily production to ensure that all production standards are met.
• Interface with the Sales, Human Resources, IT and Technical Support Departments and all other depts. to ensure a free flow of information and data.
• Review Sales Forecast and prepare the operational plan to address volume and resource requirements.
• Through training and other appropriate means, continue to upgrade skills and industry knowledge of all members of the Operating Center Team.
• Fully utilize reporting system to ensure the timely and accurate capture of all appropriate production data.
• Plan and lead the Operating Center to grow and expand. Anticipate and effectively deal with market, customer, or social trends that could enhance opportunities or adversely impact business results. Represent company in key relationships with customers, the USPS, trade associations and the community at large.
• Implement and support all operating systems, policies, and procedures that achieve the directives and strategies set by the company. Creatively manage and allocate human capital resources in support of these directives and establish measurements to monitor the financial health of the Operating Center.
• Implement and maintain MPTQM’s comprehensive quality systems to support the fully support the organization’s quality initiatives.

Communication/Staff Development
• Provides exceptional communication with major customers at all levels of contact. Establish and maintain open communication with internal and external customers and contacts. Promotes the spirit of cooperation between all company facilities and corporate office.
• Ensures effective communication line exists with the USPS.
• Reviews and evaluates staff performance regularly; conducts and documents annual reviews with timeliness.
• Attends and actively participates in meetings, conferences, presentations and seminars that require periodic travel.
• Attends and participates in corporate meetings. Maintains spirit of respect for all attendees and individuals presenting information.
• Develops and prepare reports and correspondence to achieve effective workflow.
• Communicates effectively with all levels in the organizations, its clients and/or its agencies and vendors, as well as potential clients, both verbally and in writing.
• Conducts and documents regularly scheduled staff meetings at Operating Center.

Performs other duties as assigned, which may be required to further support and focus on the future growth of the Company. Will be at work before all other employees and leave after all other employees are gone.



Qualification Requirements –

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience that demonstrates knowledge of accounting principals and practices, communication skills, statistical analysis, sales and marketing concepts and production management.

• 8-10 years of progressively more responsible management experience in sales/marketing/customer service/operations in a service environment. Proven success in servicing major accounts. Verifiable evidence of sales abilities demonstrated by personal sales results and successful management, as well as documented ability to build strong, service oriented customer relationships.
