Where are you staying in Vegas? Not because I'm going to stalk you (I'm not!), just because I've been there a bunch of times and consider myself a Vegas hotel connoisseur.

Too bad it's the middle of the year. You just made the perfect New Years Resolution list for all your minions.

Yes to I do like the way your eyes look, and are you saying they have changed due to them being waxed?

From a wanton and indiscriminate pre-pepperer--I understand. Great list, CR

You know, way back when, the chinese used to commit suicide by eating a pound of salt.
I know this because of that time I had 47 blink-free hours to fill after eating a whole jar of Bacos for no apparent reason.

>what was wrong with your eyebrows b4?

They'd gotten a little wooly. Notice that now my left (your right) eyebrow is wayyyy far in. It should line up with the inside corner of my eye. She coated hot wax on what felt like one entire half of my brow and before I could get the nerve to say anything (this woman is about to rip my face hair out by the root), she's gone and done it. Made my eyes look all asymmetrical and fucked up. Trust me, it's worse seen in real life.

>i actually have one of your black and white pictures as my screensaver

Well, holy shit.

I can see the misalignment now that you point it out, but I'd probably never have noticed on my own. I guess I'm a male that way. I'm too busy standing up and looking at a downward angle upon my monitor to try to catch a glimpse of what's just below frame. Damn you "somewhat daily reading"! Always getting in the way.

Sorry.

Mom, who is flying out my sister and I in celebration of our birthdays later this year (she couldn't decide between that and Cancun(!)), told me where we were staying but I forgot. Or wasn't listening. Likely b) since it wouldn't have made a difference since I know shit all about Las Vegas. I'm not sure what happened, but Mom's apparently now loaded. Vacationing in Las Vegas. Who woulda thunk it?

I'll be sure to ask her though, again.

I told her I wanted to be sure and visit the old strip--not just the new stuff. I think I may have said, "I want to see where Thompson may, or may not, have tripped balls for a week solid and may or may not have injested human adrenal glands."
(No, I didn't say that. If only.)

But any suggestions of things not to miss are welcome. Perhaps I can pull Mom away from the slot machines long enough to do something really cool.

I hate to sound unoriginal, but I think the shows like Cirque Du Soleil and Blue Man Group are the coolest thing in Vegas. They're also expensive, but with a loaded mom, I guess you've got no problems. Vegas is all about tourism, so I don't think it's one of those places where you can avoid the touristy stuff and find really cool "out of the way" stuff. Unless you want to take the extra 1-hour drive to a bunny ranch...

Seeing both the old strip and the new strip is no problem. It's all one street, just a few miles long. Starting at the south end with Madalay Bay, Luxor, et al, just head north and within 20 minutes (lots of traffic, lots of lights) you'll be in the old down town area. That's where the drinks are cheaper and the slots are "looser", if you're into that sort of thing.

For me, the hotels are the stars of Vegas. I don't know if it's a latent interest in architecture or what, but I find the whole place fascinating. Recognizing places from movies is always fun too.

Hmmmm .... Vegas

I've been before they covered the old strip and since then. It's still the best part of Vegas. Ohhhh, you can go to Treasure Island and see them sink an entire ship every hour, but the old school has 2$ Blackjack tables and white nagahide seating ... with built in ashtrays. Oh, and karaoke, so you can say that you "died" in vegas ... at the 4 Queens.
