the VMF contracts everything and we are not maxed out on OT... 4 hrs wk OT

Hey causeway, do you guys grieve the contractors working on the vehicles? Do they work on all of them or just po tags? It doesn't suprise me that management would get away with wasting p o money. They contract so much out in our shop we will be lucky to have jobs in a few years!

how does everyone like the new Obama hybrids?? I work at a large VMF, doing services and tags from our mobile unit. We travel to remote associate offices and get to see wonderful sights... example; at 6:00pm, I watch a brand new car pull in to an ungated postal station and park... a man gets out, locks it and walks away. A vehicle pulls up, he gets in and they drive away. I walk over to the car and it has PO tags on it.. sounds like someone is wastng PO gas and putting a lot of miles on this car( the station is 30 plus miles from Main post office. I live 35 miles from my VMF and have to burn my own gas and rack up the miles on my vehicle...I checked the tags on the Admin vehicle list and the driver WAS NOT a Postmaster or a POOM...by the way, contractors service these cars, not the VMF

What is really needed is to contact your congressman to put a bill in to stop the transformation plan and revert it back to the 2002 operations. All the grievances in the world is not going to work until this plan is stopped. I put a resolution in at the national convention to make management negotiate for all of our jobs to be ours within a fifty mile radius of a GMF or BMC (NDC). It was passed with no objections by the floor of 3,000 people!!!! But did you hear or see this resolution put on the bargaining table, hell no. That was in 2002 I had the foresight to see this and headquarters did nothing.

MAYBE WE NEED TO EDUCATE OURSELVES IN THE GRIEVENCE PROCEDURE, I AM AN ALTERNATE STEWARD IN TH SA VMF, I SPEND HOURS EVERY NIGHT DOING RESEARCH ON ALL THE MANUALS AND STEP 4s that we have won. and believe me there are a lot, one MANUALin particular is as707a dated 1990 it pertains to subcontracting vmf work, it is not in the hb and manuals that the post office has available, but i have it, it is very interesting, if anybody needs a copy e-mail me at : RDIAZ23@SATX.RR.COM , AND I WILL E-MAIL YOU A COPY AND IF YOU NEED AMMO TO FIGHT, I WILL SEND YOU 20-40 VMF GRIEVENCES THAT THE UNION HAS WON ON VMF SUBCONTRACTING.

YOU WILL BE MODE CONVERTED!!! One brother asked what would happen if you ELECTED OFFICERS AND LOCAL OFFICERS Were excessed into another craft (mail handlers, NALC) could they still represent you he said yes they could. But again he didn’t give you the alternative , How long do you think that would last! Ans. to the next election!! You wouldn’t be in office all that long, The MVS craft made a big mistake the silver bullet is not the MOU the MOU sucked every local in like a sponge!! We all didn’t want it and all of us didn’t need to be in it. Maybe the Directors in those areas need to vote out their NBA's and get things done here in the Northeast we like our NBA and we have been winning art 32 arbs.  VMF bids were posted in St Louis.7lead techs level 9, 5 techs and two level 10 lead jobs. All tour one and three. The union is of the opinion no one should bid on the openings. This will force managment to appoint people into the openings. In theory we can request a rebid to allow the senior people back on the prefered jobs. Our acting superintendant is on such a roll he will mess with the hours and non sceduled days. Who knows why he feels he can mess with all of the senior people? None of us are of the age or years to retire. This is a possible situation for other VMFs. I hope the national union is taking notes. It does not look like the contract is worth much but imagine the Post Office with out one.

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa. This man has a great idea, all members of congress have to subscribe to the new health care proposal. No wait it's us who has to pay not congress. The benefits they receive are free. Do a tour in congress and get free benefits for life. There is a congressman who paid 5 million dollars to get elected. Why would anyone pay this much to win? They still think we are stupid, they still think they are invisible, We see the corruption and its getting to the point where it's effecting our lives. They always said as long as the populace had cable tv and cold beer they would not protest too much. What is happening now is the beer ran out and there isn't anything on cable. Please revise your outlook on life.We are also Governmemt employees so quit selling us down the river!

actually contracting to eagle will be a blessing. they will be/are the perfect example of gypsy contracting at it's worst. huge turnover, predictable as you would expect drivers et cetera. make sure those expeditor's work with you in your documentation.

Greeting my former brothers and sisters. COLUMBUS OHIO is gone as of 9-26-09. Eagle Express took over PVS operations last night. It was a CLUSTER *%^&. Accident one on the first day. 95% late trips out for tour 1. Drivers sleeping when they were to be running. God Bless the USPS. The only thing missing was Larry Curly, and Mo. Expediters call to tell me about the mess. Good luck to you all. We will fight until we are returned into the PVS operations. Bless you all. You could be the next. Keep vigilant. Not to beat a dead horse, but it sure does sound like the end to the VMF's, doesn't it? I hope it all works out for you guys in St. Louie! But where I'm from, it just looks bad. I'm with 20plus year with the attitude of going to the media!! Wouldn't it be nice to see mike powers on tv going ,but my math adds up, really! Then getting slammed by our local stations! I tried to get guys to come to me with paper work to keep records. It lasted about a week! So now I keep my own records of what goes on. SOOO the fight goes on and all we can pray for is someone upstairs to GROW a BRAIN, and come to their senses!
