If you can prove that you are sitting for 8 hrs. per day I'd be letting this slip to the media and OIG.

MVS driver in Columbus; can't break this to you gently, but our APWU has been signing up HCR drivers as members for well over ten years. They even have their own division within the union. Like you said, they lose 30 MVS members, and pick up 30 HCR members, what's the problem {for APWU}??? NEFF runs up into NYS in Buffalo/Rochester areas also. There are MANY contractor driver members of APWU in New York. They even wear their company jackets advertising their membership. Somebody is getting it in the end here. Guess who.......

Why are you not bringing this to the media, US elected representatives, congress and senate and if you feel the union did not do as they should have to the nlrb.

We contacted our national reps, and they contacted the Postal Service. The Postal Service told them they were saving over 4 million to use hcr's. This is BULL. We all know the numbers are totally overblown. The post office will not save that kind of money. NBA told our President that Detroit has 28 drivers sitting on 614 clock ring all day long. Our Local management told us in a meeting that the postal service is "TEACHING YOU WHO PAYS THE BILL'S." WE HAVE TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THE OTHER MVS UNITS WHO TELL US THEY DON'T WANT THE PILOT PROGRAM." Labor charge was filed, grievances filed, excess notification..We are screwed and National Lied to our local President. They told him we still could get in the pilot, but not according to anyone locally. Eastern area labor rep Ackers flat told our president in a teleconference they were trying to massage the laws on RIF for vets. We have 68% vet-pref. but the post office doesn't care. They are moving us, with little regard. We have filed at lest 5 or 6 labor charges, and numerous grievances, contacted local news, and Elected Officials down to the mayor.. Still nothing. Local union fighting for us, national isn't. Bobby and Mike should come to Columbus and tell them what is up. Not Happening. I am giving a brief story because I hate what is going on here, and don't want the rest of the craft to go down the tubes like Tacoma and now Columbus...I am not Bitching about the local. They have been doing everything NBA Bell has told them to do, and the MVS Director also took all the Stewards off the Super Seniority list. We all respect this. United we stand... President will rep the rest of the craft, along with the VMF Chief steward.

Oh by the way, 54 drivers moved anywhere within 750 miles, our Stupidvisors all got RIF letters, so sometimes they get it in the butt also. They told us all the time that they would like the entire MVS CRAFT TO BE CONTRACTED..I guess they forgot without us they really don't need them. Also to JUST A DRIVER..we pretty much agree that the local is doing a good job with all that they are doing. Pritchard and Foster...NO. What do you guys think.. do you think National has helped us in anyway. They sold all of us down the river with this PILOT. This is just the start. The schedules they gave us for pilot, looked like a schedule set up for the contractors..Oh by the way...The schedules HCRS will run>>> you guessed it.. our PILOT schedules. If you go to the Pilot, your working the bugs out for the contractors... Think about it...

The P.O. is determine to eradicate MVS from what I'm Reading, or downsizing it dramatically. But in the mean time has monies for frivolous projects costing $9.5M as the one listed below: http://www.eponline.com/articles/72429/APWU mindset seems apparent to protect there revenue base no matter who's pockets it is derived from "Postal Employee...or....Scab Contractors"!

Well it looks like Bobby and Mike did it again (maybe that could be a song) first it was the Drivers in Tacoma years of suffering than a huge sell out only 17 of the 32 drivers are returning and the other work the 15 drivers did is still being performed by the contractor. The arbitration that was won was thanks to the regional coordinator Omar, read the case Bob and Mike fucked up the 32 argument and we won on Omars constant demand that we but article 12 in the Grievance, thanks Omar. Second we have Columbus Ohio Bob and Mike have been working on the runs for the contractors for months and here we go Columbus is being contracted out and the drivers are being excessed up to 500 miles away, another great job. Well lets not forget the ERT arbitration were the Arbitrator said that the Union filed the grievance untimely and we notified earlier than they said they were, or that they negotiated from 100% full time to 90/10 great job 10% of the craft not getting their hours. How about the casuals in MVS for allowing Management 10% PTFs not the 0% they wanted we now have casuals all year long, how many never had casuals except for xmas now have then all year, another great job. The list goes on, Holddown not being utilized for maximization, from 2 hours to 1 hour the time utilized for a run reposting and many others. But lets not forget the MOU on work rules the greatest accomplishment these 2 so called leaders have gotten for the craft. I hope their will be someone anyone running against them this election I will do whatever is needed to support anyone else, one thing I hope its not to late. PS to all who support these 2, stop the charade and start thinking of the craft not your pocket.

Columbus MVS
Good Luck on your Problem, For us here ( Tacoma MVS) we Know what your going thru, we have been fighting this for 7 Years. And the National Helped at First, but since we got our Arbitration win National hasn't Pushed the Issue,We have been Fighting to get our Jobs back in Tacoma that was Awarded to us Nov of 09.. And They only(Postal)want to give us back Half the Work, Not the Full work we Won !!!! Its to the Point where I would like to know If we could File a Class Action Lawsuit against the Postal Service for Not Abiding by The Contract ( IE Binding Arbitration)

I would be nice if the Union could be savaged financially for their incompetence. You ever get the feeling Bob and Mikey are greasing their own skids towards retirement?

Discussed Officer. We were told that they were withholding jobs for 750 miles, not the 500 that they first reported at first. Nice that they didn't keep anyone nationally up on the distance of the withholdings..

It boils down to this, write your congressman, senator, state representative. They are under our watchful eye. If they want to be reelected or elected 600,000 voices speak loud. every piece everyday.

It appears that MVS may be going the same way Special Delivery did a few years ago. Don't hold your breath waiting for Burrass, Pritchard, or Foster to save your jobs,VMF jobs went right out the door with this bunch running the APWU in 2001 with the Upgrades. Remember Election Time what needs to be done. Sorry to be bitter, but that's the way I feel.
