Thanks for the reply wrench. Management is short sighted! We are about 290 behind and all they know how to do is waste money. To bad about Ulleysess in cleveland!!!! They should catch more of them!!!! Maybe some one will catch on and investigate the short comings of the vmf's!

To Old Geezer, speaking of Money Out The Door, check out Craigslist.Org,click on jobs in RI and go to skilled trade/craft and you will find one of the VMF Contractors near the State House here in Providence looking for more Auto Techs. He is on today's posting on Craigslist, look at Automotive Technicians Providence, his name is Perry. If you know of anyone looking to work on Postal Trucks on the side or someone relocating to this area, give him a call at 401-272-0966. No test required, just great pay, plenty of hours, and loads of dough!!!

This is a Update for You that care , Some might remember that we Won our Arbitration in Nov 2008. Well, We got Official Letter's on June 4th stating that we are Going back to Tacoma MVS on June the 20th. Also that we will be Bidding on our Run's on or Before the 5th of June.. Well its Now the 10th and we haven't seen a Run YET. Also, The Award we Received was for MVS to Return WHOLE and to eliminate HCR.. We, Denver HQ has decided to Only Bring back the 17 Drivers that are left ( Most might not know that Tacoma MVS has been going thru this for 7 years Now and been in Seattle for 2 years 6 months), When we left Tacoma we should of Had 32 Drivers, and Denver HQ only says we should have 17 now ??? Something isn't right.. We the Majority of the Tacoma Drivers Have Lost Faith in APWU National.. Seems the don't Care about MVS anymore

Thanks for the update Hatchet and we do care about what happens in Tacoma. At least I do anyway bcause we were excessed out of Pasadena the same day. While I haven't been able to post comments regularly, I have been following the board. At least you won your case, ours doesn't look so good. Don't give up on the union yet, I know they don't communicate much with the rank and file and changes come very slowly, but they do come through eventually and they'll probably have to go back to court to get all thirty-two positions. The mind set of Management is that they want to contract out all PVS, that's why mgt is dragging their feet on this. I also heard that you guys are going to be part of this MOU on alternate scheduling. If this doesn't satisfy mgt look for them to really try to push out PVS on the next contract. Hang in there, the struggle continues, the fight goes on.

Columbus Ohio is now the new Tacoma...We were notified that all of out jobs are being contracted out as of June 30, 2009. What is National doing...Rumor is that they met with the contractors about joining up with the union. This came from one of the contractor who will be getting our jobs. Loose the dues from Columbus.. add sub contractors Nice!!!!!!

Well sorry to hear about that Ohio, but the Tacoma local never thought about asking the scab contractors to join up with APWU. I guess we got lucky! When we get back to Tacoma I will ask the scabs if our National tried to do a back door deal with them to join the union to perhaps keep their jobs! (Our jobs)

To MVS Driver in Columbus Ohio, what are they going to do with all the MVS Employee's? Are you staying with the APWU or moving to different crafts with other Unions such as Mailhandlers or Letter Carriers, etc.? I agree with Top TTO, you have to hang in there. We are all walking on eggs and things appear to be worse in different parts of the country and it looks like things are going to get even worse in the near future. It seems to me that USPS signs agreements with the Unions and then they breach the contracts that they just signed!! Best of Luck to everyone and keep up the good fight to save our jobs.

Ohio,
You telling us your local is only getting 10 days notice? If that is the case your local is even more f'd and clueless than the National is.

Someone is talking some serious bullshit here, the contract REQUIRES a hell of a lot ore time than that for notice.

And who is the contractor?

Hey Pritchard, any truth to this? we know you read this and from the looks of things you aren't doing much else

We are under a 750 mile withholding for TTO<MVO<DSI<and Level 4 custodian jobs. They told us we are being made examples of for telling Burris, Pritchard and the rest of the people this is step one in eliminating the MVS craft. We have 47 regular bids, and the cost comparison was 47 reg bids versus 35 hcr bids. This shows a 4.9 million dollar savings.. BS>>> Really... Contractors driving less than 100 miles per route will not make money. This is a cover up by the USPS in the way they are bidding. We hear from the HCR that the Postal service is paying for 6 supervisory positions at the HCR office... Not USPS employees. Why are we paying for contrators people to take our jobs.. How is this saving money. Currently we are being told to report to the swing room for 8 hours of hell. Sitting and waiting to go home..Not as great as it sounds....Hopfully the local union, who has been fighting for us cane win the at arb. National hasn't done a thing to help out local union. Merle Bell has been very helpful, but not Bob or Mike.. They never give information to us before the local management tells the local director and President..We shold be hearing something from National...

We were given a copy of the mode on April 28, 2009 by management.NOT PRITCHARD. Our President called Pritchard and he said well yea they sent us the notification. Nice to get this from our elected officials.. Hope if anyone else has this happen that National helps more than they have helped Columbus....
