Good point, chico. It's the work of minutes to turn a w00k into a mullet, but many long months to go the other way!

A w00k is a mullet before it sells out.

Eew, how about that very past-due teen-20s guy look of short hair, gelled, combed straight down the forehead so you can see the combtracks? He'll be driving a five-year old Mustang. Wearing Nautica and too much Drakkar Noir.

I wasn't dissing wooks. Just observing the cool quotient, which changes over time. Cool goes up, cool goes down.
Wooks are rare and special. Unlike electrocuted albinos or pageboys on spiked acid, they take time and care to cultivate. And since they require both patience and facial hair, not everyone can grow them. So special, the wooks are.
So does the name come from "wookie," as in Chewbacca?

Okay, if we're dissing hairstyles, I'd rather dis the pageboy-on-spiked-acid look that's making the rounds. Didn't Anne Heche wear it first? I want to know whose fault it is and force them to use conditioner. Anyway, it's getting up my nose way more than the w00k. Or the mullet, for that matter. At least the w00k doesn't require heavy styling and hair product.

I'd never heard the term until I saw this yesterday, and then was introduced to someone sporting a w00k with full beard just hours later. I didn't say, "Nice w00k!" though I was sorely tempted...

Yeah, xeni, it's too bad more people can't pull off the electrocuted albino look.

This is hilarious. First time I'd heard the word used. I can't figure out which hairstyle is more uncool, these or mullets. Given that a variant of mullets (sort of) recently became cool again, is it possible that these too could become newly rad?
