What to do tonite?
flex, schottenring (u2/u4) and then go down to the "river" which is actually the Donau canal. Just follow the graffiti or go to where it is loudest. Best musik in vienna - if geek or blogger

Any suggestions on good new media events in the city in the next week? Links to venues would be great. Underground events are good too. Thanks!

Thanks Martin and Thomas,
I downloaded the map of hotspot and overlayed it onto a physical map of Vienna. Turns out most of the spots cluster. Then I went those places to find the hotspots. Found a few, all private. Most interesting was to note the city-space around the hotspots. Unis, shopping streets, various business centers mark the spots.
In any case, FYI for those who have lots of data to download. Find a good internet cafe, the hotspots (and Metronet) are too slow. I suggest the place I'm writing from now:

Just in case you're lost for ideas on what to do while you're in Vienna, I've compiled a list of things to do and places to eat. It's available on my website at http://www.aardvark.at/vienna.html
You'll also find a link to my site with public transport information there.

Hi Ethan, try this http://www.metronet.at/en/services/. You have to pay in advance and then find a place. I know that the Cafe Landtmann at the Ringstrasse right across the Burgtheater is a hotspot.

I just arrived in Vienna, and would like to connect my own laptop to the Internet, from a cafe. Phils link to the list of Internet cafes was helpful. But I want to sip coffee under a wireless sky. Does anyone have a list or knowledge of hotspots in Vienna?
