Tinderbox only exports the parts of the file that are necessary. When I export my weblog, only a few files are updated -- only those with content changes. I use Interarchy to do my FTP upload, and it too only sends files that have changed. As a result, updating the weblog is just a matter of a few files, all handled automatically while I do other things.

Jonty, I think a lot of people who are interested in or already using Tinderbox would love to have a good manual to work with, and one of the tips that should be included is examples of how to more easily upload weblog posts with either built-in tools in OS X 10.2.4 or with rsync or other OS X tools.

i've used tinderbox for my work as an academic and writer, and to keep a couple of blogs. the frustrating thing about it as a blogging tool is that it takes agest to create a quick post. this is not a type and publish software as you have to export so many files simultaneously unless you are happy with just updating an index page.

i think it could also do with much better annotation although the support from mark bernstein and the team at eastgate is fabulous. i'd just rather have a great manual.
