A Wellsford Trolley Derby is in the making and the organisers are looking for suitable photos from earlier Wellsford Derbies to use for promotions.

I am amazed by the amount of helpful responses that I have received. Today is Sunday, aug 27th. I will be working on this project today according to everyones tips.

Hi Louis,

From your diagram I would suspect that the rope is just slipping on the shaft. It may have been clamped to the shaft or had enough tension to prevent it slipping.

i just pulled my old go kart out of storage. im having some issues with my steering. a view of my basic diagram can be seen here: http://www.officenerd.com/diagram.htm
what im looking for is some help, seems like the The rope that is run through a couple of pulleys and wrapped around the steering column is not catching.
if someone could help me with some diagrams or if they have used this mechanism in the past that would be great.
