Seriously, the do hicky is a Doppler radar. That day wasw recorded as a f4 Tornado. It wasn't so big though it did some Damage.

We never got any super crazy weather like that in Western Canada growing up. Well, I suppose the -70ºC (with windchill) once in a while is a little crazy, but, like you said, it was just something that you lived with.

then i went to my first day of work on a new job and there was no electrity for the first 2 hours and then they let us go nearly 45 minutes early due to the storms.
what a crazy world of tornados and picture windows!
if only i had a fat jedi dude to saber away the debris like whatshisnuts in the movie you linked...

Yup, the rain has just picked up fiercely. As I type this I hear three sirens. They have been constant since last night.

...and here comes some more. There's no basement in the building I work in, either.
For the record, I like hurricanes better. Passing through the eye is the best thing ever. The sky is yellow and everything is completely silent.
