Not really. The launch of the Tanager in America annoyed the heck out of Orange UK, but Orange doesn't have a presence in the US, so someone was bound to get a Smartphone franchise there. There was going to be a T-Mobile Sendo Smartphone, remember?

and /m4 ignores the fact that most smartphones for the next year will probably be non-Microsoft, so Orange can't have planned to exclude the majority of the market!
