Paul,

Selecting the "Open Links From Other Applications: In Current Window" option under the General Prefs defaults to opening a new tab in that window.

Cool. Thanks, Steve!

Looks like it always opens HTML documents in a new window rather than a tab, though. Unless you have an empty tab in the current window, in which case it will use that.

I'm not a big fan of the persistant tab bar when I only have one tab, so it peeves me a little bit that in order to stop Safari from shrinking my window upwards when I close all tabs but one I have to have the persistant tab bar.

And acronym and abbr tags are still handled incorrectly, and it still doesn't work so well with cookies with no path, and...

One other simple thing about Camino that I miss is being able to resize a window to full-screen with a single click on the green dot. Apple has an Applescript that will do this on their Safari scripting page. They also have a script which will combine all open windows into one tabbed window, which I suppose is better than nothing as a workaround for my problem with opening HTML documents.

I'd like to have a way of turning off underlining of links. It's visual junk, IMO.

One thing I've been waiting for is for one of the tabbed browser creators to recognize that if I have a window full of five or six tabs, all active, and I close the window when I really intended only to close the currently visible tab, I get really annoyed with myself!

A confirmer for a window-close event if there are multiple tabs seems like it shouldn't be too hard.

And a tip. You can save a collection of tabbed windows as a single bookmark. Very handy. I have three sets of them for different roles I play on the Web.

My bad. Mozilla and Camino tab browsing supports saving multiple tabs as a single bookmark. As far as I can tell, Safari doesn't, at least not in this release.
