Happy Leap Day to everyone. I couldn't be more pleased that our extra day (here in DM at least) is one of the nicest we've seen in months. 40 glorious snow melting, road drying degrees. Awesome! I even got to park the winter bike for the afternoon and get out the Surly.

lots of you have e-mailed me about ska soap - yes i will have ska soap available on ragbrai - samples for free and bars for sale. it will include beer, hemp oil, and maybe coffee grounds for those morning showers. it is completely natural and biodegradable - so you can bath in a river or on someone's lawn. i may make some swamp-ass chamois butter too - took kill all that nasty shit growing in our shorts.
hey miked - cool gift pack! loved the absinth spoon - look forward breaking it in soon :) already broke in the coozie about an hour after it arrived.

I was looking through the recent issue of Bicycling magazine when I saw a little blurb about the Mayor's Cup. Sweet.

Gracias, mi amigo Franco. My memory isn't what it used to be. Even then, it wasn't what it should've been. Or could've been. No doubt would've been had I been then what we are when we are them. Absinthe also makes the vocabulary more better. We'll toast a shot in July.

Cyclo de Mayo is once again in motion. The date is set and the checkpoints are super secret. The race will start May 10th, 2008 at 12:34 PM at the Bike to Work Week Packet Pickup in the downtown Des Moines Farmers Market. There will be all sorts of local businesses featured along with awesome prizes awarded to both fastest finishers and holders of the best poker hands. I'm about 90% certain that Public Property will play the post race party at El Bait Shop, also in downtown Des Moines. I hope to see Team SKA well represented this year. More information will come, check out the ride calendar on BikeIowa.com in the weeks to come. I hope to see you there!

Well Mohawk Mike--the route has come out; so while you are thinking of this summer remember: ABSINTHE makes the heart grow fonder... (Hey, you told me to remind you)

They announced 2008 Ragbrai route - check it out! Mike D -what is this 'end of Ragbrai' you speak of... I don't like those words together. The route looks great this year. N. Liberty and Tipton!

I am afraid that it is the end for RAGBRAI. Good to know that there is safe haven on the Katy Trail for this year's MidMo BRR.
The next generation of crazy fun party bike.
