I think Blipp hit the nail on the head with that comment; Not to mention there are many other reserved octates that anyone could use to illustrate the point, so why would it be required a movie use the 10 set? And one could easily argue that popup password window was gnomish :P

I don't understand whats disappointing about the 10.x.x.x address. After all, if it were a normal routeable address, what would be the point of going through the trouble of breaking into the building to get physical access to the network. Anyone can sit at home and fire up a script at an ip on the net. Not everyone can go flying off a building on a motorcycle to crash into a guard house and beat up a handful of security guards.

Filmmakers are supposed to use 10.x.x.x IP addresses, for the same reason they're supposed to use 555-xxxx phone numbers (or were, before the telcos started actually allocating them.)
