pbx, you bring up a good point. No, I never really did run OS 9 on my Pismo - I loaded it with the OS X Public Beta about a month after I bought the machine. No, I was referring to clutter as compared to running OS X 10.2.6 across two screens - the built in 12-inch LCD and my external 17-inch LCD. There is no doubt that OS X is better with more screen real estate, just as was the case with OS 9.x.

Rob, I'm curious about your screen clutter comment, since your new machine has the same resolution as your old Pismo. Were you running OS 9 on the old machine? Or have you made icons, dock etc. larger to compensate for the greater pixel density?

I have had my LittleAL for just a couple of weeks longer than Rob and I agree with most of what he says. The heat issue is of no importance as I am on the desktop 99% of the time. I find the ram limit has not affected me yet and I simply don't use the built in screen much. When I do, it is crisp and clear so no loss there. I had an upgraded G4 Lombard before and notice a speed difference but not earth shaking. I have had, knock on silicon, Zero problems with my LittleAL and very few since my first Mac 128K in 1984. I am very happy with my current Mac and look forward in a few years to an even better one. This LittleAL is going to be tuff to beat though !!!
