How are these at all like Switch ads?
They're much more similar to Ready.gov ads, aren't they?
By the way, yeah, too much SARS on boingboing these days. I've actually found myself reading the site much less as a consequence. I'm sorry, but I just can't get too excited about Photoshop contests "wryly" (more like oh-so-ain't-I-cleverly) poking fun at a health emergency.

Have some vision, for Christ's sake.
The fading in and out. The changes in facial expression and tone. The forced sincerity. The sudden ending. Even the music sounds like an Asian version of the Apple music.
It's an Apple commercial, except for the lack of pure white background throughout and Apple logo at the end.
I almost sent Xeni an e-mail, telling her to ignore you assholes, but I stopped myself, because saying "you're so cool" and "these people don't know how cool you are" and "I'm in love with you, Xeni," just felt too much like a fucking fan letter.
What you people fail to realize is that SARS is the new AIDS, and the story has reached epic proportions in a matter of weeks. Media to blame or not, it is some serious science-fictiony shit, which is worth paying close attention to.

If by "paying attention to," you mean "making light of by photoshopping pictures of asian people with masks on" then I guess Xeni would agree with you. I, however, see little amusing about SARS and a lot more potentially frightening about it.
Fanboy.

Don't make confrontational comments without so much as provide an e-mail address.

Did you not say this?
"I almost sent Xeni an e-mail, telling her to ignore you assholes, but I stopped myself, because saying "you're so cool" and "these people don't know how cool you are" and "I'm in love with you, Xeni," just felt too much like a fucking fan letter."
You're a fanboy. You're telling Xeni you're in love with her based on her blog posts. You're a fanboy. Deal with it.
Self-knowledge is a good thing, "Dutch." Try developing some.

You first, jackass.
While you're at it, try developing some knowledge of sarcasm.

Okay, that's it, motor scooter! Now I'm not angry anymore. That was a legitimately funny comeback, even coming from someone with fish for brains.
I just hope you can see the point I was making in my original comment, and why I was offended by you calling me "fanboy."

Read about SARS. It may be in your community and this info may save your life! Be epecially careful of Canada which Toronto has been placed back in the affected area list in the World Health Organisation and eating beef in Canada with the mad cow disease in Alberta. Who knows what else the Canadian government is hiding. http://www.sars.com

Before I realized that Dr. Redsky was spamming multiple QuickTopics, I took a look at sars.com.
It's kind of ironic how the page rants about the terrors of SARS, and then if you skip to the bottom, there's a complaint about Verisign/Network Associates, including the complaint that their wait times for phone support are over an hour. Kind of puts the whole "lousy customer service" thing in perspective, which I don't think was the intention.
